2025 Golden Globes Nominations: Miley Cyrus, Meryl Streep and More Snubs and Surprises
This announcement is pure gold.
Mindy Kaling and Morris Chestnut revealed the nominees for the 2025 Golden Globes Dec. 9 at the Beverly Hilton—and you're going to want to mark your calendars for the annual celebration of film and television.
On the film side, Emilia Pérez is the most-nominated movie with 10 nods followed by The Brutalist with seven and Conclave with six. As for TV's big contenders, The Bear leads the pack with five nods followed by Only Murders in the Building and Shogun with four each (see the full list here).
For some nominees, the 82nd annual award show marks another opportunity to go for the gold. For others, it’s the first time they’ve been in the running for the honor.
Take Wicked's Ariana Grande, for instance, who is making her debut on the Golden Globes nominations list with her nod for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture. Adam Brody is also a first-time nominee, with his role in Nobody Wants This landing him a nod in the Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy category.
Fans will have to wait until the big night to see who wins the award when the 2025 Golden Globes airs on CBS and streams on Paramount+ Jan. 5, 2025 starting at 8 p.m. EST, with Nikki Glaser serving as host.
Although, one of the winners has already been announced. Last week, it was revealed that Ted Danson will receive the Carol Burnett Award for his contributions to television. Still, he’s hardly a Golden Globes rookie. The Cheers star has been nominated a whopping 13 times and has taken home three trophies.
And as viewers cheers to the nominees, they can keep reading to see more first timers on the Golden Globes nominations list.
