Godzilla Officially Returns November 2026 In Huge New Crossover

Godzilla is no stranger to the world of video games, having featured in numerous games dedicated to the legendary kaiju, alongside having appeared in many others through assorted crossover events. Whenever it appears in a game, one can always be sure the experience will be at least a little fun, its destructive tendencies and clashes with similarly massive kaiju often making for exhilarating, action-packed entertainment, much like the films it is in.

However, aside from a few recent Godzilla games, the King of Monsters hasn't featured in a full-blown release in quite some time. Fortunately, that's all about to change, as it is getting a massive title that not only includes it, but also several of its iconic adversaries in what will surely be considered one of the best Godzilla games in quite some time. This is absolutely one for fans, and also a rather approachable entry point for those just getting started with this pantheon of legendary kaiju.

Alongside the upcoming Godzilla RPG set to launch this year, fans are also getting a third-person arena brawler that may seem a tad familiar to anyone who's been a fan of the towering kaiju for quite some time. Coupled with the release of upcoming Godzilla movies, 2026 and beyond are definitely proving to be the era of Godzilla, one that will hopefully prove as fruitful and enjoyable as the assorted films, crossover events, and games have been over the past few years.

The aforementioned arena brawler is actually a remaster of the iconic 2002 title, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee. Co-developed by Atari and the game's original creator, Pipeworks, Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered aims to port the original experience over with enhanced visuals, online and local multiplayer, numerous quality-of-life improvements (including enhancements to the unlock system), and more. It ostensibly takes what was already considered a legendary game and revitalizes it for a modern, Godzilla-loving audience.

Of course, the key selling point of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee is that it is a crossover event. Previous Godzilla crossover events have been disastrous, to say the least, but this is all done in-universe, utilizing the assorted kaiju one would expect from a Godzilla-focused game. Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee includes 12 different kaiju to play as, giving fans the opportunity to control some of the most iconic creatures (and robots) in Godzilla's repertoire.

Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee was relatively well received when it launched back in 2002 and has remained a fan-favorite title ever since, barely bested by the numerous attempts at delivering similar destructive action that have been released since. The remastered version is set to launch on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2 on November 3, 2026 (which just so happens to be Godzilla Day), and should hopefully prove to be the definitive Godzilla gaming experience for, at the very least, a few years to come.
