PlayStation's latest State of Play was chock-full of excellent announcements and exciting remasters galore, but one of the most exciting yet was two new projects for the God of War series. Although the God of War trilogy is a long way off from release, the studio also dropped the spinoff God of War: Sons of Sparta, which can be played right now on PlayStation 5 without any extra wait.
Released as a surprise treat during the State of Play on the PlayStation Store, God of War: Sons of Spartra is a 2D side-scrolling action game that showcases the early years of Kratos' life before becoming the God of War. As if an origin story for Kratos wasn't exciting enough, Sons of Sparta also offers full 2-player co-op for you and a friend to experience the game together.
