Gleb Savchenko's wild accusations revealed as former DWTS pro accuses ex of forcing weight loss drugs on their 15-year-old daughter and inflicting psychological harm before losing custody battle

Dancing With the Stars' former pro Gleb Savchenko made new accusations about his ex-wife Elena Samodanova amid his latest attempt to seek temporary sole custody of his eldest daughter, Olivia, before his request was ultimately denied. 

Savchenko, 43, filed a request for modification to his and Samodanova's custody agreement in mid-July, in which he claimed that his ex 'abducted' their children and has been keeping them in Hong Kong for two years without his consent.

He further alleged that Samodanova, 41, had 'wrongful retention' of their two children, Olivia, 15, and Zlata, nine, and claimed his 'controlling' ex had also taken their daughters to Russia without his permission.

Samodanova, however, denied his claims and alleged Savchenko wrongfully kept Olivia in the US after he allegedly 'canceled her ticket' back to Hong Kong in July.

Now, less than two months after Savchenko requested a temporary emergency order be put in place so that Olivia can live with him in Los Angeles, Samodanova has fired back with a separate lawsuit against the pro dancer.

Court documents obtained by the Daily Mail show that the Russian dancer filed a petition in Los Angeles on September 1 for the prompt return of her child to Hong Kong under the international treaty, the 1980 Hague Convention, which has been implemented in the US by the International Child Abduction Remedies Act.

Samodanova alleged that Savchenko should be accused of 'wrongful retention' because Olivia did not return home to Hong Kong after a trip to visit her father in Los Angeles on July 9.

The DWTS alum, who has been divorced from his ex since 2021, even attempted to enroll Olivia into a school in Los Angeles, but his ex never consented.

Savchenko responded to Samodanova's lawsuit on September 11, according to court documents, in which he opposed his daughter's return to Hong Kong.

He claimed in the court documents that returning her to her mother abroad 'would expose her to a grave risk of physical and psychological harm and would place her in an intolerable situation, based on a well-documented pattern of conduct by [her] mother.' 

He went on to list multiple accusations against Samodanova, including claiming that she was 'pressuring or forcing Olivia to take weight-loss medication' and had made 'degrading comments about Olivia’s body and weight.' According to the court documents, he also alleged that she was 'driving Olivia to train and work to the point of exhaustion, [was] retaining money Olivia herself earned,' and had removed the door to Olivia's bedroom. He claimed that as a result, Olivia had resorted to 'nightly alcohol and drug use to cope.'

He clarified that the alleged pressure to take 'amphetamines/weight-loss medication' was 'in connection with maintaining [Olivia's] weight for dance' and that it was 'without medical oversight or parental consultation.'

He added that Olivia was also allegedly 'subjected to derogatory comments about her body and weight, including being called “fat” and a “disgrace” to the family,' and was 'being pushed to train, dance, and work as a performer to the point of exhaustion, including when she was physically unwell.'

He further claimed that his 15-year-old developed a habit of 'drinking alcohol on a nightly basis and using drugs as a means of coping with and escaping the conditions' at her mother's, and that she suffered from 'severe depression and anxiety.'

He warned the court that there are allegedly 'potential risks' of sending Olivia back to Hong Kong.

Samodanova told the Daily Mail in response that 'all was not true' and that the accusations were 'just empty words without any proof.' 

In her declaration filed September 14 and obtained by the Daily Mail, Samodanova, who is now engaged to fiancé Vlad Kvartin, 31, and has welcomed a baby with him, included text messages between her and 15-year-old Olivia.

As seen in the text exchange, Olivia texted her mom and claimed that Savchenko was forcing her to make certain statements or he wouldn't give her a laptop or phone or pay for school. 

She wrote, '...that her father told her she would be betraying him and taking my side while he takes care of her, feeds her, and gives her money,' and 'that her father said she could go any time but that he would not spend money on her, including for a flight home.'

There is also a photo of Olivia crying in a selfie she had sent her mom, in which she wrote, 'Papa said I can go anytime but he is not spending any more money on me or anything even flight home.'

Samodanova wrote: 'During that exchange Olivia also sent me a photograph of herself in which she is visibly crying.'

A hearing took place on September 15, with Olivia's mother flying from Hong Kong to appear in person in court in Los Angeles, where she faced her ex, Savchenko, who also was in attendance.

In the hearing minutes, obtained by the Daily Mail, the court determined that Olivia's habitual residence would be in Hong Kong.

The exes were also ordered to attend mediation with Family Court Services.

Following the hearing, Olivia returned to Hong Kong with her mother.

Samodanova told us in a statement: 'Olivia is back home and safe now. The judge ordered Olivia's immediate return home. I bought her ticket right away, and we flew out of LA that same night on the 15th.

'After 10 weeks of wrongful retention and immense abuse, the toll on her is clear.'

She continued: 'She broke down crying the moment we landed in Hong Kong. But now, step by step, she is recovering.

'Our daughter went to visit her father for just one week. Instead of returning her, he canceled her ticket and used this painful situation for his own self-promotion. Olivia always wanted to return home to her mother, her sisters, her friends and her dance career.' 

There will be another hearing taking place on October 1, which Samodanova tells the Daily Mail will address a 'refund of my expenses and custody modification.' 

Samodanova and Savchenko announced their separation in November 2020 after 14 years of marriage. 

When they divorced, they agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their daughters. However, Samodanova moved to Hong Kong in 2023 to pursue her dancing career and also to continue her daughters' dance education abroad.

Savchenko, who went public with his girlfriend OnlyFans model Kaitlin Trujillo earlier this year, was not asked back on the new season of Dancing With the Stars.
