EXCLUSIVE: CAA has signed Mark Rosenblatt, the Olivier Award-winning theater and film writer and director whose debut play Giant opened last week on Broadway in a critically acclaimed production starring John Lithgow.
Giant, which features Lithgow as children’s book author Roald Dahl, won the 2025 Olivier Award and London Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Play ahead of its box office record-breaking West End run in last spring. The play premiered at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 2024.
For the Broadway staging, Lithgow reprises his Olivier Award winning performance. Nicholas Hytner directs.
Rosenblatt has worked as a theater director across the UK and internationally, directing productions at Shakespeare’s Globe, the National Theatre, Sheffield Theatres, Northampton Theatres, Leeds Playhouse, the Edinburgh Festival, the Young Vic, New York’s Lucille Lortel and The New National Theater in Tokyo.
Rosenblatt wrote and directed the multi-award-winning short film Ganef, which sold to HBO Europe and qualified for the Academy Award’s Live Action Short category in 2022. He also co-wrote Dominic Dromgoole’s feature film debut Making Noise Quietly, which was released in UK cinemas by Verve Pictures in 2019.
Rosenblatt is currently developing a thriller for Good Chaos, Film 4, and MUBI. He continues to be represented by longtime agent Katie Haines of The Agency, based in London.
