He is also an experienced baseball writer with over six years of articles between multiple outlets, most notably FanSided's CubbiesCrib. Whether it's taking in a baseball game, a new season of Futurama or Castlevania: Nocturne, or playing the latest From Software title, he is always finding ways to show his fandom. When it comes to gaming and anything that takes inspiration from it, he is deeply opinionated on what's going on. Outside of entertainment, he's a graduate of Eureka College with a Bachelor's in Communication where he honed his craft as a writer. Between The IV Leader at Illinois Valley Community College and The Pegasus at Eureka, he spent the majority of his college career publishing articles on everything from politics to campus happenings and, of course, entertainment for the student body. Those principles he learned covering the 2020 election, Palestine, and so much more are brought here to Collider, where he has gleefully written on everything from the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes to Nathan Lane baby-birding sewer boys.
After a lengthy break for the holidays, it's almost time to return to the McAllister residence for more of Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage Season 2. The series left off on a bit of a chaotic note in December, as the couple and their family navigated work conflicts, secrets, and an unexpected Christmas Vacation to Miami. Now, though, Montana Jordan and Emily Osment are ready to bring the laughs again, with a midseason premiere set for this Thursday, February 26. Ahead of the hit sitcom's comeback, we're excited to spotlight the next chapter in the titular couple's doomed first union with a new sneak peek as part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event for upcoming spring television series and films.
Titled "A New Hobby, a Pervert, and a Part-Time Job," the episode will focus less on Georgie and Mandy themselves, but on Jim (Will Sasso), Mandy's now-retired father. The Season 1 finale ended with him leaving his mechanic business behind for good when Georgie teamed up with Ruben (Jesse Prez) to buy the shop at the last minute, with a little assist from Mary (Zoe Perry). All the free time has left him restless, and, determined to stop him from driving them crazy, Mandy and Audrey (Rachel Bay Jones) push him to start a new hobby. However, finding something he likes to do quickly becomes a group effort. With nowhere else to turn, our sneak peek sees Jim getting his uniform back on to head back to the shop with a little help from the family. The scene cuts between Jim and Georgie as Audrey and Mandy lecture them both about how to behave now that Georgie's the boss and Jim's just helping out for free. If their begrudging acceptance of this new arrangement to get Jim out of the house is any indication, the two husbands are bound to butt heads once they're back to work together.
In the time since Georgie & Mandy have been off the air, things have only improved for the couple. Last month, amid a flurry of pickups at CBS, the Steve Holland, Chuck Lorre, and Steven Molaro co-created sitcom was unsurprisingly renewed for a third season in a reflection of the show's surprising success on the network. As the spin-off of a spin-off, it has far surpassed all expectations, continuing both the critical and viewership success of its predecessors while creating new dynamics within the McAllister family. It has since become a streaming favorite, rivaling even Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory before it and setting itself up for a long life as a comedic yet warm comfort watch.
'Georgie & Mandy' Season 2 Will Welcome Back Jordan's 'Young Sheldon' Family
The midseason premiere will mark the exact halfway point of the season, meaning there's still plenty more to come from Georgie & Mandy before Season 2 closes out. One of the biggest surprises awaiting audiences will be the return of Lance Barber as Georgie's late father, George Sr., in Episode 18. Barber already made one appearance in the back half of Season 1, manifesting in his oldest son's fever dreams and providing him with a chance to work through some of his lingering feelings about his death. It's unclear how he'll factor into the story this time, but he won't be the only Young Sheldon alum stopping by, as Perry, Raegan Revord, and Doc Farrow are all set to reprise their respective roles, while Rex Linn will make his Georgie & Mandy debut as Principal Petersen.
Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage returns to CBS on February 26 at 8 PM ET/PT. Check out our exclusive sneak peek in the player above and stay tuned here at Collider for more from our spring preview series throughout the coming weeks.
