Farming Yumemizuki Mizuki’s materials in Genshin Impact is a crucial step toward Ascending her and leveling her Talents as a means to fully unlock her potential as a healer and a potential secondary or tertiary damage dealer in the team comp. Yumemizuki Mizuki, or simply Mizuki, is a new 5-star Anemo character arriving with Version 5.4. In battle, she wields a catalyst, though the largest portion of Yumemizuki Mizuki’s gameplay kit in Genshin Impact is directed toward helping her teammates recover HP, an ability that scales off of her Elemental Mastery stat.

In addition to helping keep the rest of the party alive through her Elemental Burst, Mizuki can also provide increased Swirl DMG for all allies, which makes her a valuable addition to Anemo team comps with one or two extra elements that get mixed with the wind-based element. Mizuki is the only new character in Version 5.4, but one of the many confirmed 5-star units in the update’s banners, which have been confirmed by the Genshin Impact 5.4 livestream. Before unlocking her full potential, you will need to farm Mizuki’s materials to level her up, as well as her abilities.

Ascension Materials To Farm For Yumemizuki Mizuki In Genshin Impact

Most Items Have Well-Established Farming Routes

Because Version 5.4 is not introducing any new areas or bosses, all of the Ascension materials used by Mizuki are already available in the game and, as such, can be pre-farmed ahead of her release. Because Mizuki is an Anemo character, you can comfortably farm Vayuda Turquoise stones. These Ascension stones mainly drop from Anemo-related bosses, including the Anemo Hypostasis, Maguu Kenki, Solitary Suanni, Tenebrous Papilla, and Stormterror, for example. With Dust of Azoth, you can transform other elemental stones into Vayuda Turquoise at the Alchemy Table in Genshin Impact, too.

The table below lists all the Ascension materials for Yumemizuki Mizuki, according to Honey Hunter World:

The next set of materials used in Mizuki’s Ascension is composed of Old Handguard, Kageuchi Handguard, and Famed Handguard. These handguard materials had a notorious status as hard-to-farm items in Inazuma, but have since had an increase in their drop rates. You can farm handguard materials by defeating Nobushi and Kairagi enemies spread across the many islands that compose Inazuma. These items will also be used in Mizuki’s Talents, so be sure to farm them as much and as consistently as you can, following the best handguard farming route in Genshin Impact.

As is the case with materials from the same item family, you can use the Alchemy Table to transform lower-grade materials into rarer ones. This logic applies to both the handguards and the Vayuda Turquoise stones.

Mizuki’s Ascension will also consume a Local Specialty called Sea Ganoderma, which can be found near seawater across all of the Inazuman islands. Mizuki will need 168 copies of Sea Ganoderma and there are only 150 nodes on the map. With Local Specialties taking 48 real-life hours to respawn, the earlier you start farming, the sooner you can rid yourself of this particular farming burden.

The best way to locate all Sea Ganoderma is to filter it through the official Genshin Impact interactive map on HoYoLAB.

The final Ascension material listed for Mizuki is called Talisman of the Enigmatic Land. For reference, Talisman of the Enigmatic Land is an Ascension material that can be dropped by defeating the Wayward Hermetic Spiritspeaker world boss in Natlan. Only 46 copies are needed, but with the low drop rate and the limitations on daily Resin, you may see yourself facing this boss for several days in a row. Talisman of the Enigmatic Land is also listed among Citlali’s materials in Genshin Impact, so you may have some leftovers if you farmed for the 5-star Cryo shielder in Version 5.3.

Nintendo Switch 2 Announcement Has Me Hopeful For Genshin Impact On The New Console

The announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2 console for 2025 has renewed my hopes of seeing and playing Genshin Impact on a hybrid console.

Unlocking all Ascension phases will cost you 420,000 Mora, plus an extra 1,673,400 Mora if you level up Mizuki with Character EXP Materials. In case you need extra Mora, you can farm the currency at Blossom of Wealth activities across Teyvat. To optimize your farming efforts, run Blossoms of Wealth in Inazuma, as you may be put against Nobushi enemies, which will drop the handguard materials that Mizuki desperately needs for both her Ascension and Talents in Genshin Impact.

Farming These Items Can Be A Time-Consuming Process

As was mentioned, the handguard materials dropped by Nobushi and Kairagi enemies in Inazuma are also needed for Mizuki’s Talents. Aside from defeating the enemies, you can also purchase a few extra handguards from Stardust Exchange and Starglitter Exchange, provided you have enough Stardust and Starglitter, respectively.

The table below lists all the Talent materials for Mizuki in Genshin Impact:

To level up her Talents, Mizuki will also consume the Transience Talent books from Inazuma. The Transience Talent books can be farmed from the Domain of Mastery: Violet Court activity, but only on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. A lot of them will be needed to max out all of Mizuki’s abilities, so be sure to farm as much as you can when they are available in the Domain’s rotation. You should also remember to use the Alchemy Table to transform lower-grade books into rarer ones as Mizuki’s needs increase.

Fading Candle is the weekly boss material consumed to level Mizuki’s Talents. Fading Candle can be farmed once a week by defeating the Knave boss in Genshin Impact, but its drop is not guaranteed, as the boss can randomly drop three different types of materials. Only 18 copies are needed, but with the uncertainty of the drop and the challenge’s weekly limitation, it could take you several weeks to obtain all the necessary Fading Candles. You can transform other Knave materials into Fading Candle at the Alchemy Table if you have Dream Solvent.

Genshin Impact Needs One Major Update To Weekly Boss Fights

Farming weekly bosses in Genshin Impact is getting tougher by the minute and a simple update to the system would solve the biggest issue.

The final material consumed by Mizuki’s Talents is Crown of Insight. This rare Talent material can be obtained as a reward for limited-time events, as well as reputation systems. As of Version 5.0, you can also purchase Crown of Insight from Paimon’s Bargains if you have the proper resources. Fully leveling up Mizuki’s Talents will also require a lot of Mora, so remember to farm more at Blossoms of Wealth in case you need it – you can also get more from the Serenitea Pot’s Realm Depot.

Overall, Mizuki’s material needs aren’t too demanding, especially because the majority of the items have been in the game for a long time before her release – the only exception is Talisman of the Enigmatic Land, but that is one of the most easily farmed materials. As easy as farming them may be, don’t fret if you see yourself stuck with her progression for a few weeks or even months, as this is the normal time for leveling a 5-star character like Mizuki in Genshin Impact.
