Genshin Impact 7.0 Character Leak Is A Great Sign For Snezhnaya Update

A new Genshin Impact 7.0 character leak has emerged, showcasing what may be a great sign for the introduction of Snenzhnaya, set to arrive pretty soon. HoYoverse’s popular action RPG is currently going through the content released in Genshin Impact 6.7, the final major patch in the Nod-Krai content arc. If all goes according to schedule, Version 7.0 and the Nation of Cryo, Snezhnaya, will be released in August. As we approach the next update, a lot of leaks are being shared, including details about characters.

Now, a new set of leaks from Jelena, which was shared by Ryuusei_Dragon on Reddit, highlights some of the new characters that will be introduced in Snezhnaya. The majority of the common NPCs seen in the leak are repurposed models from NPCs seen in other regions, fitted with Snezhnaya attire. There are even more common Snezhnaya NPC models shared by Jelena in other posts, but there is actually a lot more to expect from the region, according to another set of leaks.

In the most recent Snezhnaya trailer, it was shown that the region will introduce bear-like NPCs to Genshin Impact. These bear-like characters are confirmed to be Volkodlak Fae, and the leaker has now confirmed that there are more Volkodlak Fae scheduled to be released. As seen in a post shared by Knight_Steve_ on Reddit, there are several different types of anthropomorphic NPCs, all of whom are part of the Volkodlak Fae species. There are also characters that resemble oxen, while others resemble foxes and even walruses.

Other NPCs that will populate the Nation of Cryo, led by the Tsaritsa in Genshin Impact, are Fae. Contrary to Volkodlak Fae, which resemble animals, regular Fae NPCs are a lot more humanoid-looking. Some of the character models for Fae were leaked by Jelena and shared by user astrelya on Reddit. These NPCs use slightly different character models from commoners seen across every major region in Teyvat, and will help Snezhnaya feel particularly different.

If these leaks prove to be true once they arrive in Version 7.0, they will help add a whole lot of NPC variety, which not all regions before Snezhnaya were privileged to see. One of the recurring problems in the game is how NPCs across various regions are identical. These NPCs don’t necessarily eliminate the problem entirely, as the humanoid commoners will still look the same, but there are more possibilities with new types of Snezhnaya characters in Genshin Impact.

The Nation of Cryo is building up to be the largest and most ambitious region in Teyvat so far. While it won’t feature some of the other regional-exclusive mechanics seen in Natlan or Nod-Krai, for example, it will seemingly bring forth a new genre of gameplay to the RPG, as well as one of the most important story arcs yet. If everything goes smoothly in development, we may be able to see Snezhnaya hit Genshin Impact by mid-August.
