Fremantle is expanding its production and development executive teams, hiring Jhamal Robinson as head of U.S. productions across both unscripted and scripted in addition to Emily Knight as senior vice president of unscripted development.

In his newly created role, Robinson will oversee all aspects of physical production for the company, including those under the Fremantle-owned studios Eureka and Original Productions. He will report to Suzanne Lopez, chief operating officer of Fremantle North America.

Before joining Fremantle, Robinson most recently served as executive vice president of physical production and head of AI at A+E Global Media. He also previously worked at Netflix as vice president of production management for the U.S. and Canada. For his work as a producer on Niecy Nash’s unscripted series “Clean House,” Robinson won an Emmy.

Knight will focus on developing new unscripted formats for Fremantle with the goal of global scalability. She will report to Jimmy Fox, Fremantle’s executive vice president of unscripted development and sales.

Knight most recently worked as senior vice president of development at AGC Studios, which produced “The Tinder Swindler.” Before that, she served as head of development at U.K. companies including Expectation and All3 Media’s Maverick, with credits including “Ex on the Beach,” “Escape” and reboots of “10 Years Younger” and “How to Look Good Naked.”

“As our production slate continues to grow in both scale and ambition, it’s essential that our leadership team evolves alongside it,” said Lopez. “Adding these two exceptional executives to our leadership team will help ensure Fremantle remains at the forefront of delivering groundbreaking programming across every platform.”

“Fremantle has an extraordinary creative legacy and a robust slate across both unscripted and scripted programming,” said Robinson. “I look forward to partnering with the team to align production and creative pipelines in ways that support our studios and continue delivering premium content for audiences across all viewing platforms.”

“Fremantle is synonymous with world-class unscripted television, and the opportunity to work alongside Jimmy is incredible,” said Knight. “His creative instincts and appetite for scale align perfectly with how I approach development, and I’m so excited to help build the next generation of standout global formats with the fantastic team here.”
