While the Frasier reboot mainly features a cast of new characters, Dr. Crane's former KACL radio colleague Roz Doyle could end up becoming a mainstay of the series once more. Played by actor Peri Gilpin, Roz has made frequent appearances in the reboot ever since visiting her old friend for Christmas in the Frasier season 1 finale. Given Roz's growing presence in Frasier season 2, Gilpin may be gearing up to join the Frasier reboot cast as a main character in the Boston setting.

Aside from Freddy Crane (Jack Cutmore-Scott), Frasier Crane (Kelsey Grammer) is the only character from the original show who is a part of the reboot's central cast for the first two seasons. However, should Roz become a player in Frasier's daily routine once more, the reboot could take another big step towards recapturing the magic that made the original Frasier such a popular sitcom.

Roz Leaving KACL & Seattle Could Mean She Joins The Reboot Permanently

The Frasier Reboot Has An Organic Way To Keep Roz In Boston

Roz already has enough reason to keep traveling to Boston and visiting Frasier in the reboot. Season 2, episode 3 reveals that Roz's daughter Alice (Greer Grammer) is attending graduate school in Providence and that Roz longs to spend more time with her child. Because Frasier season 2 shows Roz appearing more and more, it seems like the most logical thing for the show to do would be to have her stay in Boston permanently.

Bebe Glazer's Return In Frasier Season 2 Exposes A Harsh Reality For The Reboot Show

Bebe's return in the Frasier season 2 made for a hilarious episode, but it also shows how the reboot is relying on original cast members to succeed.

Fortunately, in season 2, episode 8, Frasier suggests to Roz that she move out to the East Coast since Alice is in Boston and KACL isn't as same without the two of them in Seattle. The series now has the perfect opportunity for Roz to become a permanent part of Frasier's life again. Based on these plot developments and conversations, the show's writers might be preparing to make Boston Roz's new home.

Why Frasier's Reboot Needs Roz As A Main Character

Roz's Character and Relationship With Frasier Is A Highlight Of The Original Show

Frasier does not have the same spark as it did when it had characters like Niles (David Hyde Pierce) and Daphne (Jane Leeves) in the main cast. However, Roz played off Frasier spectacularly well throughout the show's first 11 seasons. As Frasier's producer back in Seattle, Roz forged an electrifying dynamic with him that made their relationship a compelling part of the series. The might catch lightning in a bottle once more by bringing Roz back into Frasier's life, which could lead to more fans of the original series watching the reboot.

So far, Roz fits in quite well with Frasier's new group of peers, adding to the circle's comedic energy with her signature deadpan humor. Her presence has also opened the door for more stories involving the young characters, such as her going out for a night on the town with Eve (Jess Salgueiro) and Olivia (Toks Olagundoye). Roz even appears with Alice in season 2, episode 6, creating a brief but entertaining love triangle between the latter, Freddy, and David (Anders Keith).

When Roz wants to remain a part of Alice's life and continue her work with Frasier, she seems ready to move out to Boston to be close to them both, which could make a possible third season a must-see.

Moreover, Roz becoming a main character in the series again is just what Frasier needs to regain some of its former glory.
