The Final Fantasy franchise has been in a bit of a limbo period as we wait for both the 17th installment and the last entry to bring the end of an era for the Final Fantasy 7 reboot trilogy. Thankfully, it's not like we've had a shortage of smaller Final Fantasy projects to keep fans sated until Square Enix's next major sci-fi fantasy adventure, but this latest event is tailor-made for fans of the franchise.

As noted by finalfantasyinformer on Instagram, Final Fantasy is releasing yet another addition to its long-running collaboration with the trading card game Magic: The Gathering, offering a plethora of stunning new accessories by Ultra Pro based on pre-existing card art made for the crossover, in addition to its already wide array of collaboration products.

With a selection of card binders, deck boxes, sleeves, and some absolutely gorgeous playmats to enjoy, the accessories can even be used for far more trading card games than just as accessories for Magic: The Gathering cards, as the accessories will be compatible with any of the best standard-sized TCGs like Pokémon, Lorcana, and even Final Fantasy's own official card game.

What's even more exciting is that, rather than a random selection of products, the designs seem to be based on some of the most popular artwork and characters from the MTG collaboration, the following selection of which is now available for pre-order, although prices may vary depending on your local retailer:

Aside from their stunning designs, the new Final Fantasy collaboration also finally offers a full view of some of the artwork used for the MTG cards themselves. Allowing even more detail from the original design to be viewed in its full glory, as alternative art for characters like Tifa Lockhart, Buster Sword, and Nibelheim Aflame look absolutely gorgeous in their entirety compared to their smaller window-style card portraits.

MTG Final Fantasy Playmats

While there's still no sign of an additional run of Final Fantasy x MTG cards on the horizon after the surprise Chocobo bundle 8 months ago, it's great to see more cards recreating iconic Final Fantasy moments get an even bigger spotlight than before. The accessories also offer fans another chance to add the designs to their collection for drastically cheaper than buying the actual full art cards in some cases.

While the Final Fantasy accessories might still have limited appeal for non-MTG players, the designs themselves can still be a gorgeous addition to your collection, even if it's just for repurposing the play mats as wall art or makeshift mousepads.
