Final Fantasy 9: Integrity Arrives September 2026

It may have first been released way back in 2000, but now, over two decades on, Final Fantasy IX still maintains its popularity as one of the best entries in the long-running Square Enix franchise. Set in a medieval fantasy world where a war against nations rages on, the story follows thief Zidane Tribal, who finds himself at the center of a political plot after kidnapping Princess Garnet. However, when the unlikely pair soon find themselves teaming up, they realize that the actual threat is a lot larger than they originally thought.

Now regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time, Final Fantasy IX received a remaster back in 2016, and more recently, it was announced that it would be receiving an animated series adaptation courtesy of a collaboration between Square Enix and Cyber Group Studios. Although there is no current release date for this series, it is no doubt still exciting news for fans.

In the meantime, however, there is another exciting Final Fantasy IX-inspired release set to launch this September, and it is a must-have for fans of the series, and puzzles.

Found on the official Square Enix Store, Final Fantasy IX: Integrity is a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle released to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game. Now available for pre-order, the puzzle comes in at £32.99, which is a respectable price for an official product, and fans of the game will recognize the iconic scene it presents.

Featuring measurements of H 73.5 cm x W 51 cm, this will be an impressive piece, and will no doubt see you sink some hours into it, and not only that, but there are other jigsaw puzzles inspired by Final Fantasy IX up for grabs, including Denouement and Reclusion. With each puzzle offering a brand-new scene, you could easily collect them all over time, and with the sets not launching until September 2026, you have plenty of time to save.

Despite the very first Final Fantasy game launching all the way back in 1987, the Square Enix franchise is still going strong to this day. With two new titles to look forward to - Final Fantasy Resonance, releasing in October 2026, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation (the third and final part of the remake trilogy), slated for Spring 2027, we have an exciting few months ahead of us, and what better way to pass the time than by getting stuck into an official jigsaw puzzle inspired by the beloved Final Fantasy IX?
