My Reno Rules may have already secured a second season, but insiders claim a major change could be on the cards before cameras roll again.
Sources have told Daily Mail Australia that billionaire entrepreneur Adrian Portelli is increasingly being viewed as the future face of the franchise, amid growing speculation that co-host Dr Chris Brown may not return for another season.
While Channel Seven has yet to make any official announcements, multiple industry sources claim discussions are already underway regarding the show’s hosting line-up.
'The show is moving ahead internally,' one insider claimed.
'But Channel Seven won't make an official announcement until Upfronts later this year.
'But there are genuine questions about whether Chris will be back. Nothing has been decided, but the chemistry issue didn’t go unnoticed.'

The pairing of Portelli and Brown was considered one of the biggest talking points when the renovation series launched, with Seven hoping the combination of Portelli’s property expertise and Brown’s mainstream appeal would create a winning formula.
However, sources said executives were left underwhelmed by the on-screen dynamic.
'There was no denying the lack of chemistry between the boys,' a television insider told Daily Mail Australia.
'They’re both likeable in their own ways, but together it never quite clicked. The audience noticed it and so did the network.'
The whispers come as Seven continues its broader strategy of identifying and developing new talent capable of leading major entertainment franchises into the future.
Portelli’s popularity with viewers and his growing profile beyond The Block universe have reportedly made him an attractive option for the network.
'Adrian was the breakout,' said one source.
'He has strong audience recognition, he’s comfortable on camera and he brings a different energy. Channel Seven sees a lot of potential there.'

For Brown, the uncertainty comes amid ongoing questions about his long-term role at the network following the mixed performance of several recent projects.
While the popular veterinarian remains well-liked within Seven, sources said executives are carefully assessing where he best fits into the network’s future plans.
'The show itself is expected to continue,' another insider explained.
'The bigger question is what the hosting arrangement looks like for season two.'
With planning already underway behind the scenes, viewers may not have long to wait before discovering whether Portelli is about to take the reins on his own.
LMCT + have featured Tahan from Big Brother Australia 2013 for the last year and many think that duo is a perfect replacement if other options get explored.
The news comes after New Idea magazine reported that Brown was not a fan of the high-flying billionaire's 'flashy' style and did not like his negative comments about rival show The Block and its host, Scott Cam.
'Let’s just say, Chris wasn’t a fan [of Portelli] at all,' the insider told the magazine.

'Adrian’s flashy persona may make for compelling television, but it didn’t exactly win over his co-star.
'Chris is down-to-earth and just wasn’t a fan of Adrian’s style at all,' they said, adding that Brown thought Portelli was 'over the top'.
Brown reportedly voiced concern over Portelli's negative statements about The Block host Scott Cam.
'Chris has a strong reputation and is protective of it,' the source said.
'If there’s negative press, of course, he’d be mindful of how that reflects on the show – and on him,' they said.
Portelli attacked Channel Nine last year, accusing them of undervaluing his contribution after the big spender dropped a whopping $12 million on the 2024 Block auctions.
And last August, he attacked Cam online, branding him a 'clown' just weeks before My Reno Rules was scheduled to go before the cameras.
According to the insider, the host and the sponsor were entirely professional when performing their on-air duties, but it was obvious to the cast and crew that there was strong tension between the pair.
Daily Mail has reached out to Channel Seven for comment.
