Farrah Abraham sparks outrage in a racy desert look alongside goth daughter, 17, at the pyramids in Egypt

Farrah Abraham helped her daughter Sophia ring in her 17th birthday with a lavish trip to Egypt, but the celebration sparked some controversy.

The Teen Mom star, 34, was pictured posing in front of the Great Pyramid of Giza and the iconic Sphinx alongside her goth teenager in a revealing outfit.

However, her daring look in the conservative country, along with photos of her riding a horse and a camel, drew ire from fans. 

The reality TV star went braless in a racy, backless desert outfit featuring a draped yellow scarf and a sheer black skirt.

Meanwhile Sophia wore a black dress which she accessorized with Egyptian-inspired gold jewelry and intricate hand art. Her voluminous goth hairstyle was paired with dark eye makeup.

Many fans criticized Abraham's outfit choice, noting that modest dress is the standard for visiting the sacred historical site. 

'Part of traveling is learning cultural respect. Farrah's ignorance is putting you in danger,' one person wrote.

'You're brave. Showing so much skin for such a conservative country....'  another added.

'Shocked as well,' someone else replied to the comment.

'Especially on a respect level,' another person chimed in.

Meanwhile many others took issue with Abraham sharing Instagram snaps of her and Sophia riding camels and horses in the desert.

'Poor animals,' one wrote.

'These animals are so abused I feel so bad for them.'

'These poor animals all for the gram.'

'Exploitation of animals isn't a good look.'

'This is absolutely horrible! Please stop riding these camels! This is not fun or special. These camels suffer IMMENSELY!!! look at the scars, the dried blood and the red marks on your camel from the whips that they use on them.'

Abraham also penned a lengthy caption, writing, 'Headed to the #pyramids with my cleopatra @sophialabraham, right before the USA killed the Iranian leader and now no American can go to the Middle East.'

'To my brothers and sisters in Africa and the Arab countries we pray for you and want you to be great and do great for your families and know you can always have a home in America.'

She went on: 'Stop hate, stop wars and unite together #AbrahamAccord let there be peace ✌️ on earth and stop attacking each other- Be your best one day at a time. Protection and love ❤️.'

Abraham shared a number of posts from the trip and revealed that she and Sophia got matching hieroglyphic tattoos. 

'Mothers first tattoo Matching tattoos made in egypt,' Sophia wrote as she shared snaps of their new ink.

'Our tattoos represent eternal life, eternal love, eye of Ra, eye of Horus, and inspired egyptian hieroglyphics as seen in ancient egyptian history! The Arabic writing translates to “eternal love”. I’m so happy and grateful i got to get this very special matching tattoo with my mom in egypt. 17 has been amazing so far!'

Last month Sophia showcased bat tattoos on her torso, which she got in October with permission from her mom.

Abraham received backlash for letting her daughter get her stomach tattooed.

At the time, both she and her daughter shared social media videos of Sophia getting two rows of bats inked around and below her belly button.

Abraham, who previously sparked controversy over Sophia's septum piercing at age 13, smiled as her daughter, who was dressed in goth glam with a full face of white makeup, had the tattoo applied.

To tease the fresh ink, she even joked that Sophia was pregnant, with the teen misleadingly holding her stomach before lifting her shirt to show her new tattoo.

Abraham first entered the spotlight in 2009 on MTV's 16 and Pregnant.

Her storyline was marked by personal tragedy following the death of her high school boyfriend shortly before the birth of her daughter Sophia.

She went on to become one of the most recognizable and controversial figures on Teen Mom, later branching into other reality shows, music projects, and adult entertainment.

She departed the MTV franchise in 2018.
