One look at Prime Video's current top 10 lineup reveals just how diverse the audience's tastes really are. While the number one show on the streamer is, and has been, Guy Ritchie's Young Sherlock, there is also room for a game show, an international title, and a big-budget tentpole. The latter title is Fallout, based on the popular video game series of the same name and executive-produced by Jonathan Nolan. Fallout has been one of Prime Video's biggest hits over the last couple of years, and it returned with predictable bombast a few weeks ago. The show stars Ella Purnell in the lead role, alongside Walton Goggins as the antagonist. The show is still delivering huge numbers for Prime Video, but Purnell has another, far more low-key title punching above its weight.

The small-scale dark comedy series premiered in 2024 with a six-episode first season and has since been renewed for a second season. It was originally a Sky Atlantic title, streaming internationally on Prime Video. In the United States, the series is also available on Starz. It follows an unassuming young woman who, after her father's death, makes a sharp left turn in her life. The show received positive reviews upon its release, and now holds a "Certified Fresh" 88% score on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. The website's consensus praised Purnell for being a "diabolical delight" in the central role, and noted that the series "holds a lot of darkness beneath its playful exterior." In her review for Collider, Carly Lane praised Purnell's performance and wrote that the show "does more than enough to inspire confidence that, no matter what happens, it remains an addictive watch through to the very end."
