War may never change, but Fallout certainly does. Now that it's officially tied into the Amazon TV show, we might be getting a completely different setting than what we're used to.

Fans across multiple corners of the internet, including Reddit, think they have it all figured out. Based on the evidence so far, they could be onto something.

Is Fallout 5 Going To Colorado?

Based On The Show, It Could

Without giving away any specifics, the second season of the Fallout TV show gives us a clue as to where we could be headed next in Fallout 5. One character's arc teases a trip to Colorado, and fans are focused on one specific location there, lore-wise.

Here's the theory: "So Todd said that Fallout 5 will 'will be existing in a world where the stories and events of the show happened or are happening.' Now Season 3 will likely take place at least in part in Colorado (or so it seems). And what does Colorado have? The Cheyanne Mountain Facility, and (presumably) the Enclave complex. So this makes me think that Fallout 5 will take place in Colorado. What evidence do I have? Almost none. But will I believe it until proven otherwise? Yes."

Amid jokes like "my theory is that it never comes out and we get Skyrim again," many fansthink there's something to this. Another fan thinks we'll see a shift in focus, regardless of the setting: "I think the next game will be an enclave main history or…… we're going to have a new story with some of the characters of the Amazon series."

As folks discussed this potential plot point, the possibilities arose: "I would actually love a Fallout that starts off from the Enclave perspective. The player would be brought up in an environment that legitimately thinks what they're doing is good, later on the player experiences the real world and it breaks their brain."

It would be a similar type of intro to prior Fallout games, featuring Vault-Dwellers coming out of the only life they've ever known, but it would be a pretty good twist to add the mysterious Enclave into the mix. Plus, it could lead to some actual choices in the narrative, especially if you have a friend who is loyal to the Enclave.

Nothing Has Been Confirmed Yet

We'll Have To Wait For A Reveal

Despite all this theorizing, we don't have a full confirmation of Fallout 5's setting or core narrative focus. Bethesda has its hands full with the next Elder Scrolls, but there are a lot of expectations in tow for Fallout as a whole.

Either way, some of the future of Fallout will likely be reliant on the TV series. Given that they seem to be pumping out the show way faster than Bethesda can deliver games, it could add even more to the overall lore of Fallout before we even get a new entry.
