Ethan Hawke shocked fans as he made a vulgar sex confession during the British Vogue and British GQ afterparty on Sunday after losing the BAFTA for best actor.

'Is it bad to eat in bed? Question is, eat what?' the 55-year-old father-of-four asked the magazines.

'Incredibly vulgar things are going through my brain right now... I like to eat in bed, but I don't eat food.'

In the comments, one Instagram user reacted to the TMI confession by referring to his eldest child: 'Maya, get your father.'

Hawke has been married to second wife Ryan Shawhughes Hawke for 17 years, and they raise 17-year-old daughter Clementine and 14-year-old daughter Indiana at their $3.9million six-bedroom home in Brooklyn's Boerum Hill.

The five-time Oscar nominee and his 43-year-old Under the Influence producing partner just reunited with his ex-wife Uma Thurman on Valentine's Day to attend the Manhattan nuptials of their daughter Maya to her musician husband Christian Lee Hutson.

The Hawkes - who were raised in the same Texas town - originally met through his literary agent before he hired her as a nanny during his five-year marriage to the 55-year-old Oscar nominee, which acrimoniously ended in 2005.

'There were never any scandalous thoughts or actions back then. In the years that followed, my marriage disintegrated due to many pressures, none of which were remotely connected to Ryan,' the nineties heartthrob assured The Guardian back in 2009.

'I know people imagine some kind of Sound Of Music type love affair, but the truth is by the time Ryan and I were falling in love, it had been a long while since I had employed her.'

Thurman previously fueled rumors that Hawke might have had an affair with model Jen Perzow when Oprah Winfrey asked her in 2005 if 'there was some betrayal of some kind'.

'There was some stuff like that at the end,' the Dexter: Resurrection actress - who also welcomed 24-year-old son Levon with Hawke - admitted.

'We were having a difficult time, and you know how the axe comes down and how people behave and how people express their unhappiness. Our marriage failed. I should take full responsibility for the failure of my own marriage.'

The American Revolution actor made headlines Sunday when he lost the BAFTAs best actor trophy to I Swear star Robert Aramayo, who profusely thanked him for coming to speak at The Juilliard School when he was just a student.

'He gave an amazing talk on longevity as an actor, protecting your instrument and avoiding self destructive behaviors,' the 33-year-old Englishman recalled in his acceptance speech.

'And it had a great impact on everyone in that room, so to be in this category with you tonight is incredible. Thank you Ethan!'

The camera then panned to a visibly touched Hawke who could be seen mouthing the words, 'That's better than winning!'

The Lowdown producer-star portrayed lyricist Lorenz Hart in Sony Pictures Classics' critically-acclaimed biopic Blue Moon, which only earned $3million at the box office but is now streaming on Netflix.

'Playing Larry Hart was the greatest challenge of my 40-year acting career,' Hawke wrote on Instagram last month.

'To make this film alongside one of my best friends, the incomparable Richard Linklater, was an honor in itself. Today I'm thinking back to the first time I read Robert Kaplow's brilliant, now Oscar-nominated script, which so vividly captures the dangers and the joy in pursuing an artistic life.'

Blue Moon marked the three-time Tony nominee's ninth time being directed by the 65-year-old filmmaker after the Before trilogy (1995-2013), The Newton Boys (1998), Waking Life (2001), Tape (2001), Fast Food Nation (2006) and Boyhood (2014).

Hawke will next compete for the best actor in a leading role trophy at the 98th Academy Awards, which air March 15 on ABC/Hulu.
