Epic Games is only giving away one new free PC game this week, and Metroidvania fans looking for the next adventure will want to snag it. For the next week, you can get Doomblade for free from the Epic Games Store.

From Hollow Knight: Silksong to Mio: Memories in Orbit, Metroidvania fans have had no shortage of great games to check out in recent months. But if you've played all the recent heavy hitters, Epic is giving away a great 2023 Metroidvania. Doomblade finds you playing as Gloom Girl, who comes across the sentient Doomblade. (And who doesn't love a sentient sword?) The Doomblade was held captive for eons, and is now hellbent on revenge against those who bound it, the Dread Lords.

It's a stylish and action-focused Metroidvania. You work towards regaining the Doomblade's lost powers (a genre staple) on the way to taking down the Dread Lords. Critics enjoyed Doomblade, and it holds a "Very Positive" rating on Steam with over 270 reviews.

If Doomblade catches your eye, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim the game. It will be free until Thursday, April 30, at 11 a.m. EDT.
