Though we usually know a week in advance what games the Epic Games Store is offering for free, the past few weeks Epic has kept the games a mystery, and this week is no different. Once revealed, those surprise games turned out to be a couple of great, positively rated PC games. Rogue Waters and Songs of Conquest are free to claim for a limited time.

Rogue Waters

While you wait for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, you can check out another pirate game for free. Rogue Waters is a turn-based roguelike. As a pirate captain, you set out on a journey of revenge while recruiting other pirates for your swashbuckling adventures. You battle on land, on the deck of your ship, and at sea in naval frays.

Songs of Conquest

Another tactics game is on offer this week. Songs of Conquest has you leading a group of powerful magicians on adventures and into war via turn-based, magic-infused battles. You can play solo or with friends through co-op multiplayer. Songs of Conquest launched in May 2024, and already has about 12,000 "Very Positive" player reviews on Steam.

If Rogue Waters or Songs of Conquest catch your eye, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim them. The games will be free until Thursday, June 11 at 11 a.m. EDT.
