EXCLUSIVE: Emily in Paris star Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu is set to make her producing debut through her Mariri Productions banner on a Morocco-set action-thriller, in which she’ll also star.
Currently in development, the untitled project will also be produced by Eleonore Dailly and Edouard de Lachomette for Autopilot, the Paris- and L.A.-based company behind I’m Not An Easy Man, Dangerous Liaisons and I Love America, as well as Nicolas Derouet of ND et Fils, who will oversee casting.
Plot details are being kept under wraps. Shooting in Morocco this fall, the film is written by Sam Boyer, who won the 2022 Academy Nicholl Fellowship for his action-thriller Ojek and was named on the 2023 Black List for his kidnapping thriller Foragers.
Best known for her role as Sylvie Grateau in the hit Netflix series Emily in Paris, which was recently renewed for a sixth season, Leroy-Beaulieu is a veteran French actress who has also been seen in Call My Agent!, The Crown, and more. As a producer, she’ll focus on projects that foreground bold, mature female protagonists within an international framework. She is represented by Heller Law and Anora.
Autopilot is repped by CAA and Felker Toczek Suddleson; Boyer by Range Media Partners and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman.
