Emilia Fox has said she's 'made peace' with her split from her TV producer ex Jonathan Stadlen.

The Silent Witness star, 52, revealed in January that she had secretly separated from her partner of four years in 2025.

Reflecting on the difficult time, Emilia says she is now enjoying some time to herself after years of back to back relationships.

The actress has dated a string of famous men, including chef Marco Pierre White and comedian Vic Reeves. She shares her 15-year-old daughter Rose with actor and filmmaker Jeremy Gilley, whom she split from when their daughter was two.

Emilia has admitted that she has a history of to throwing herself into work to cope with any personal life disruption, explaining:  'In my 20s, I went from relationship to work to relationship to work, and didn’t have time for myself.'

'I’m not complaining about it. I had a great time. But this bit of life has turned out differently, and that’s OK.'

On her most recent split, she continued to The Telegraph: 'I put my heart and soul into things and want them to work, but I accept that not everything can work. Life is ever-changing, and making peace with that is a good feeling.'

Speaking to the Daily Mail Weekend magazine in January, Emilia admitted that it has 'been a year of change. At the beginning of 2025 we separated. It’s really sad when relationships finish, and particularly one for which we both had lots of hope.'

‘You can see life’s dents as harmful, or choose to think they make us who we are. So my attitude is that I take all the good things that happened – I have nothing but lovely things to say about Jonathan, and I feel lucky to have been on that path with him – and accept it’s time to look to a different future.’

She added that she hasn't sworn off romance, insisting 'I would never do that, I wouldn’t be that extreme.'

'But I have really appreciated having time to myself, to collect myself, and be on my own. It’s been good for me. The last year has been a healing time.'

Emilia has been busy this year shooting the latest episodes of Silent Witness. Since 2004, the actress has portrayed Dr. Nikki Alexander since taking over as the series lead from Amanda Burton.

The third series of her Perugia mystery crime drama, Signora Volpe is also about to be released.

Emilia plays former MI6 agent who has moved to the Umbrian countryside to use her old skills to solve murders.
