Emerald Fennell’s ‘Wuthering Heights’ with Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi Lands Valentine’s 2026 Release Date

Emerald Fennell‘s adaptation of “Wuthering Heights” has landed a romantic release date. The film from MRC and Warner Bros. will be released on February 13, 2026, which is Valentine’s Day Weekend.

“Wuthering Heights” is already shaping up to be one of the more anticipated dramas despite being over a year away, but that’s because the film stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi in the adaptation of Emily Brontë’s classic novel.

Hong Chau, Alison Oliver, and Shazad Latif co-star in the film that’s a production of Warner Bros. Pictures and MRC and is being produced by Fennell, MRC, and Robbie’s LuckyChap banner.

Fennell is both writing and directing the adaptation of the book, which is a Gothic romance set in the wild countryside of Yorkshire of the naive, innocent Cathy, the dangerous and mysterious Heathcliff, and the forces and class divides that threaten to tear them apart.

The book was published in 1847 and is Brontë’s only novel, but it has been an influential staple of literature ever since.

Pre-production began on “Wuthering Heights” back in September, and the project is eyeing a production start date in 2025 in the UK.

Warner Bros. on Friday dated two other films, including one for a 2026 release of its own. Those projects are DC Studios’ “Clayface” set for September 11, 2026 and written by Mike Flanagan, and “Dynamic Duo” set for June 30, 2028, which is an animated film directed by Arthur Mintz and produced by Matt Reeves.

“Wuthering Heights” has been adapted for the screen with Andrea Arnold’s 2011 film and William Wyler’s 1939 adaptation with Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon that was nominated for Best Picture.

The film is also Fennell’s third feature, which includes “Promising Young Woman” and “Saltburn,” in which she first worked with Elordi.

Paul Schrader, who worked with Elordi on this year’s “Oh, Canada,” recently said of the actor and “Wuthering Heights” that this film is his last big test as a movie star and that “if he can play Heathcliff in this new ‘Wuthering Heights,’ he can do it all.”
