Ellie Goulding has been praised for publicly calling out her own fan page for making 'anti LGBTQ+' comments.

The fan site allegedly shared then deleted a message to X about Ellie's fashion and tagged the 39-year-old singer directly, however, Ellie didn't take too kindly to the words.

The now-deleted message, which was shared by another X user, read: 'I’m so glad your recent outfits are so feminine - lace, silk. They really highlight your beauty; I prefer them over those ‘trans’ looks aimed at a specific community, and I think you do too - you’ve been looking lovely lately.'

The Burn hitmaker then responded directly, telling the fan account: 'Girl, no thank you. We don’t tolerate any anti LGBTQ+ in the fandom. I know you are better than this.'

Ellie didn't offer any further comment, however, her retort later trended on X, with fans lauding the star for speaking out against the fan page.

Jeff Benjamin commented: 'Ellie Goulding called out her own fan that runs an Ellie Goulding News account for being transphobic, reinforced what HER fandom stands for, and pushed back on the fan to know and do better. That's how you do it.'

Another user put: 'This is exactly what a qualified public figure should do. Sticking to your stance is way better than being vague to keep all fans.'

A further comment said: 'The way she publicly corrected her own fan instead of quietly letting it slide is exactly why her fanbase has any credibility left. most artists would've just blocked and moved on but she actually made it a teachable moment for everyone watching.'

Another wrote: 'Bless you for speaking up and calling her out. It needed to be done, for a long, long time. Love is love and we, your true fans, will always support that.'  

While India Willoughby, Britain's first transgender national television newsreader, added: 'Yes! Well said Ellie.'

It comes after Ellie looked incredible in a satin lace minidress as she posed for sexy Instagram snaps on Friday. 

The singer showcased her toned physique in the khaki spaghetti strap dress while sporting dazzling jewellery. 

Ellie welcomed a baby girl with actor Beau Minniear, 29, on March 6 at the Lindo Wing in London. The singer is also mother to Arthur, five, from her marriage to ex, Caspar Jopling.

Fans recently branded the singer 'iconic' after she posted an interestingly timed tweet amid the furore over Ed Sheeran's tour.

The pop star sparked romance rumours with Ed, 35, back in 2013 and speculation later emerged that she had cheated on him with One Direction star Niall Horan, 33, after Ed wrote his hit song Don't about a betrayal.

Years later, Ellie finally addressed the cheating claims, insisting they were false, but fans have now been sent into a frenzy by a cryptic tweet shared by the Anything Could Happen singer.

As the fallout from the decision to drop Macklemore from Ed's US tour intensified last week, Ellie simply posted a heart emoji on X.

Whilst she didn't add anything further, the timing seemed interesting to fans and they began commenting in their droves. 

'Objectively funniest thing she could’ve tweeted right now. Not a word. Not a joke. Just a single heart. Honestly iconic,' declared one. 

'That one just sent the entire timeline into overdrive. Ellie knows exactly what she’s doing,' agreed another.

Quoting one of Ellie's biggest hits, one posted in response: 'AND WE GONNA LET IT BURN BURN BURN BURN.' 

Others simply begged Ellie to elaborate, with one replying: 'girl say words. wtf does a heart mean.'
