Elisabeth Moss Reacts to Chase Infiniti Joining Handmaid’s Tale Spinoff
There was only one person who could play June Osbourne’s daughter.
Ahead of The Handmaid’s Tale spinoff The Testaments premiering in April, original series star Elizabeth Moss shared why One Battle After Another star Chase Infiniti was the perfect choice to take on the role of Hannah.
“She had to have a gravity to her, an intelligence, a sense of having come from something else, having come from somewhere else and have that sense of complexity,” Elisabeth explained in an exclusive E! News interview at the premiere of Imperfect Women March 10. “But at the same time, be hopeful and looking to the future and have that sense about her and her generation and also be extremely talented.”
Elisabeth understood the list of qualifications for a character so known, yet unknown by The Handmaid’s Tale fanbase—June spends the entirety of the original series looking for her daughter but never reunites with her—was extensive.
“You do not find that,” she explained. “There’s basically one of them and that’s Chase.”
And as for whether fans will finally see the reunion between June and Hannah—whom the original series reveals was renamed by her foster parents as Agnes MacKenzie—that they’ve been waiting so patiently for?
“I can’t tell you either way,” Elisabeth, who is a producer on the sequel series also based on a Margaret Atwood novel, teased. “If I told you yes, then I can’t tell you no. It’s like, I can’t tell you anything about it.”
Luckily for fans of the Mad Men alum, she can spill about Imperfect Women, the Apple TV project she stars in alongside Kerry Washington and Kate Mara.

And while the show itself, which hits the streamer March 18, will follow a group of friends who have a lot of secrets between them, Elisabeth assured it was a lot different behind-the-scenes.
“From our first scene together we just never stopped talking,” she continued. “If we had to be separated in order to shoot, the rolling of the show got in the way. Like, shooting the show got in the way of us actually getting to hang out and talk. We just never stopped talking.”
Indeed, even after their time on set together came to an end, the friendship has endured.
“We still have conversations we have not finished,” Elisabeth added. “Everything from stupid advice, to silly advice, like not a big deal, everyday advice to like, getting down into the real stories that we would not share with everybody. So, that was very obvious from the beginning.”
Imperfect Women and The Testaments are certainly shows you won’t want to miss. For more of what to add to your watchlist, keep reading...
