EDEN CONFIDENTIAL: Strictly's Ore leaves children 'really upset' over home sale

3 days ago 7

Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba's estranged wife, Portia, has often expressed despair about the changes the couple's separation has brought.

And now the former television researcher's misery has been compounded as the family home is being put on the market – leaving the pair's two young children utterly devastated.

Portia and Ore moved to a new-build house in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, with their son, Roman, eight, and daughter, Genie, four, in 2022.

'I told the children that we are selling the house,' Portia, 36, admits online. 'It's hard, especially for Roman, to have these conversations. He's really upset.

'I wanted to let the kids know, I tried to explain why. It's gutting, and I've known for a while.' She and BBC children's presenter Ore, 40, married in 2015, having met while students at Loughborough University.

Now she's looking for work. 'One minute, I was scrubbing a toilet [at home], the next I was in a top and jeans, doing a job interview,' she says. 'Change unsettles me. Not knowing what's next is quite a lot, whether that be the house, the job . . . I'm just at a bit of a crossroads with life.'

Last year, Portia admitted she had turned to alcohol as a coping strategy during a difficult period. And in the autumn, she declared: 'Sometimes, I feel like I can't do this any more – I am done.'

Ore, meanwhile, has been reinventing himself. Last year, he posted a photo of himself wearing swimming trunks with the LGBTQ symbol in front and the word 'Pride' emblazoned in rainbow letters on the back. He has also addressed his pornography addiction.

Spooky spot for founder of Phones4U

Phones4U creator John Caudwell has experienced all sorts with Modesta Vzesniauskaite

Billionaire John Caudwell, 73, has been given a new lease of life by girlfriend Modesta Vzesniauskaite, a Lithuanian cyclist 30-odd years his junior.

And he is not the only one experiencing new sensations at Broughton Hall, his £12million Jacobean mansion in Staffordshire, with rumours of ghostly goings on at the stately pile.

'I haven't had any apparitions, but others claim to have felt strange things: a bed vibrating or a slight caress when going up the stairs,' whispers the Phones4U founder, highlighting the property's spiritual history. 'There are many stories.'

Dame Joan backs Cara's girl

The happy troupe, led by Dame Joan Collins, dine out for lunch at Nobu Malibu in California

Never shy to express an opinion, Dame Joan Collins appears to be happy with the girlfriend of her goddaughter, Cara Delevingne.

The Dynasty star, 92, and husband Percy Gibson joined top model Cara, 33, and singer-songwriter Minke – real name Leah Mason, 34 – for lunch at Nobu Malibu in California.

She is one of Cara's 16 godparents. When she asked property developer Charles Delevingne and his wife Pandora why they had chosen so many, they said: 'Well, in case any of them die!'

Traitors not so tidy for fan Ruth Jones

Gavin & Stacey fans were thrilled when they heard rumours that Ruth Jones would be competing in The Celebrity Traitors' forthcoming second series.

But now the star has confirmed she recently rejected an offer from the show's producers.

'I want to address this,' she says. 'I was asked about doing it. I do love the show and did think: 'Wouldn't it be great?'

'But then I thought: 'Oh, gosh, I'd have to swim in a lake, put on a wetsuit.' So I'd rather watch it. I'm not doing it.'

Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe's son is not yet three but already feels at home on stage.

'I've brought him to the Hudson Theatre now a couple of times, and he is far too comfortable on a stage for my liking,' says the actor, 36, who is starring in Broadway play Every Brilliant Thing.

'As soon as he got on stage, he started shouting: 'Dancers, to your places.' ' The name of his son with long-term girlfriend Erin Darke, 41, has not been made public.

After Donald Trump suggested Keir Starmer was not living up to Winston Churchill's legacy, an unlikely source has struck back.

The US President is no Churchill himself and has left troops unsure what they're fighting for against Iran, claims Sir Richard Branson.

'If the world is asked to go through hell and high water for another US war, there should be a justifiable cause,' the Virgin tycoon says. 'When Winston Churchill prepared Britain for blood, toil, tears and sweat, he knew he had to do this to defend its sovereignty. Sadly, Trump is no Churchill.'

Sir Ringo Starr's son Zak Starkey, who played drums with The Who, is selling (at Sotheby's) a 1967 floor tom, once thumped by the band's Keith Moon

Decorated with nude photos, the £230,000 instrument's slogan is 'Keith Moon Patent British Exploding Drummer', as he would often set alight drum shells packed with gunpowder on stage.
