Dungeon Crawler Carl: Mobs Of Mordecai Officially Releases Next Month

Dungeon Crawler Carl really does continue to explode in popularity, with each passing day drawing in new fans and further adaptations that expand on the existing offering. It began as a web serial by author Matt Dinniman back in 2019, quickly amassing a considerable audience in its own right.

From there, a full audiobook adaptation was produced, before a traditional physical hardcover publication by Penguin Random House's Ace Books imprint was released in 2024. Now, a TV adaptation is in development for Peacock by Seth MacFarlane's Fuzzy Door Productions, though we don't have a timeline on its release just yet.

Aside from all of that, there is another upcoming release attached to the existing role-playing game, and it has the potential to upgrade your next run significantly.

Mobs Of Mordecai Debuts In November

In case you weren't already familiar with the project in its entirety, Renegade Game Studios successfully funded their Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG to the tune of a genuinely staggering $13,298,059. It is a full skill-based TTRPG set in the televised dungeon of the original series, where players can either take control of a familiar face or create their own character as they do everything they can to survive.

As you might expect with numbers like that, the game is doing very well, and the Mobs of Mordecai - Dungeon Crawler Carl RPG: Miniatures Set 3 is now available for pre-order as a result. It's a logical and meaningful expansion of the current offering, with the manufacturer sharing the following description to help players:

"Enhance your gameplay of the Dungeon Crawler Carl roleplaying games with these 8 prepainted Dungeon Crawler Carl miniatures. This set features Mordecai in his many Mob forms. Mob forms included are from the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth floors each of the World Dungeon.

• Contains high profile and fan favorite friends and foes
• Prepainted and highly detailed!
• Each figure comes individually packaged
• Compatible with other TTRPGs or Miniatures game that use 28-32mm scale and one-inch = 5' grids"

The full list of miniatures included in the box set is as follows:

• 1x Ratkin
• 1x Bugaboo
• 1x Incubus
• 1x Grulke
• 1x Skyfowl
• 1x Pocket Kuma
• 1x Hill Cyclops
• 1x Human Canadian

As mentioned previously, the set isn't out just yet, but you can pre-order it right now for £64.99/$85.10 from all participating retailers. It really is one of the best ways to enjoy the Dungeon Crawler Carl universe right now, and don't feel you need to have read the original series to get involved, as it's a very friendly experience to those who are entirely new to it. The only potential barrier to entry is the price, but given how many hours you can get out of it, it's not a bad deal.
