The best free game on PlayStation Plus is one that you may have skimped over while browsing the catalog, but it is one that you should definitely not sleep on. There are hundreds of games made available for members of the Extra and Premium tiers, so it’s understandable if you don’t have time to play everything. These games come on top of the monthly free games; in February, for instance, PS Plus got Ultros as a free game for all members.

The catalogs for the Extra and Premium tiers change every month, with some new arrivals and some removals, too. Amongst all these games, it can be hard to choose what to play, but there are some certified hits available. You can find huge games on PS Plus, including titles like Cyberpunk 2077, The Elder Scrolls Online, Death Stranding, and many others. There is one, however, that reigns above all else.

The Game Can Offer Dozens Of Hours Of Gameplay

Bloodborne is completely free on PlayStation Plus via an Extra or Premium membership. Because it is part of the catalog and a first-party title for Sony, you can download and play the RPG created by FromSoftware at any given moment, as long as you are still a member. The game’s availability in the service does not include The Old Hunters DLC.

However, you’ll get to experience the dozens of hours of gameplay within the game, and even more so if you are trying to get 100% completion in Bloodborne, which requires multiple playthroughs and ventures through the challenging Chalice Dungeons. If you’re a member of the Essential tier, you’ll need to upgrade your subscription to gain access to this game.

Bloodborne Is A Must-Play Game On PS Plus

It May Be One Of The Best Titles In The Catalog

Although there are some great titles in the catalog, Bloodborne may very well be the best game on PS Plus – if not, it is, at the very least, a must-play game. The soulslike RPG from the creators of Dark Souls is fueled by horror-based themes, but is not a horror game. The game offers a remarkable setting touched by both gothic and cosmic horror, as well as an excellent twist on the soulslike formula.

A bit different from what can be seen in Dark Souls and even Elden Ring, Bloodborne encourages you to be much more aggressive, as you can recover health by attacking enemies. The gameplay, combined with the story, setting, themes, and soundtrack, makes it one of the best titles created by FromSoftware – so much so that it is Brandon Sanderson’s favorite game.

The game was released back in 2015, so it’s a great time to catch up and remove it from your backlog. There is a chance you’ve already played it, but if you have, you know that it’s worth replaying Bloodborne every so often, especially with its free status for PlayStation Plus members.
