Marvel is going to have one of their biggest years on record thanks to the arrival of Avengers: Doomsday on December 18. Clocking in at nearly three hours long, Doomsday is going to properly introduce Doctor Doom to the Marvel Cinematic Universe; a long-awaited arrival for Marvel fans everywhere.
The studio is going all-out on this debut, bringing in Robert Downey Jr. to play the character, which will no doubt have some twists and turns throughout Doom's two-movie saga. After years of waiting since the RDJ announcement, we're just a few months away from seeing how it all plays out.
Before that happens, though, Doom has assembled another team. Over on YouTube, you can see how this other aspect of Doom is going to play out beyond the movie. If you remotely like Doctor Doom as a chracter, it's worth checking out what he's up to.
Doctor Doom Has Built His Own Team
Thanks to video from Arc Systems Works and Sony, we have a full look at Doctor Doom's team for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which is due out on August 6.
If you aren't following Tokon: Fighting Souls, this is essentially a "what-if" tale that marries classic Marvel characters along with a Mortal Kombat-style tournament. A Universal Elder has challenged worlds and destroyed them, setting their sights on Earth. Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Ghost Rider, and Doctor Doom are all deemed team leaders to fight in the tournament.
Doctor Doom's team is called the Knights of Doom, and it includes a ton of villains from across Marvel. Here are all the playable characters for the Knights of Doom:
- Carnage
- Doctor Doom
- Green Goblin
- Magneto
Other teams include the Amazing Guardians, Fighting Avengers, Samurai Outsiders, Unbreakable X-Men, and Phoenix Cyclops has been announced as the first DLC character.
2026 Is Doctor Doom's Year
Doctor Doom is going to have a heck of a year thanks to Tokon: Fighting Souls, where he's already one of the most popular characters, and Avengers: Doomsday. Doomsday, in particular, is on track to have an incredible opening and could kickstart a new era of the MCU following the rave success of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
There's a lot on the line right now for the greater MCU, but with Robert Downey Jr. returning to the franchise, anything is possible. If you can't get to the theater, you can play Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which is the next best thing.
