The Pawport is a smart doggy door introduced at CES 2024 that's getting a huge upgrade at this year's CES. The company announced an upgraded line of smart pet doors and a new two-door system with an indoor and outdoor door that works simultaneously for ultimate function. Pawport now features three series: Standard, Designer, and Signature, to diversify the options for consumers looking for a smart doggy door.
Only pets can get through
The new Pawport line is "as secure and strong as your front door," Martin Diamond, Pawport CEO, told ZDNET in an interview. While the original Pawport smart door slid over an existing doggy door, the two-door system is an option for people who want the ultimate level of security from a pet door. "Nothing is getting through it except a pet with a tag," Diamond added.

A Pawport doggy door is a smart door that can be controlled with an app and is set up with a lightweight tag that attaches to the dog's collar. The collar tag triggers the door to open when the pet is nearby and in motion so only the correct pet can enter and exit the home. Aside from app control, Pawport also supports voice control through Amazon Alexa, Apple's Siri, and Google Assistant.
The tag has a coin battery, similar to an AirTag, lasting up to a year between battery changes. This eliminates the need to remove the tag to recharge it every month. The Pawport door has sensors to prevent it from closing on a pet while exiting or entering the home and an optional rechargeable battery to continue use during power outages.
Users can also set curfews in the app for each pet, limiting the pet's ability to go out at night or during unfavorable weather. The tag also monitors pet activity, including how often the pet has gone out and their resting time.

Available in many finishes
The Pawport is available in 13 finishes across the three collections, including steel and aluminum doors. The Designer series also features scratch-resistant materials, while the Signature series has a finish that resembles wood grain and gold trims.
"It looks great, but it's more about security," Diamond said, adding that they tested the Signature series doors against bullets.
