A trip to the DMV is usually like pulling teeth, but for the CBS sitcom, DMV, it's all laughs. To add to the workplace hilarity, the series already has a blooper reel ready for Season 1. Collider is thrilled to unveil an exclusive look at the blooper reel filled with so many laughs and great comedic timing, it's a wonder the show's editors were able to parse the improv from the blooper — and we mean that in the best way possible. The CBS series follows a DMV in East Hollywood on the brink of being shut down, and is reminiscent of recent workplace sitcoms like Superstore and Parks and Recreation. Alex Tarrant, Tony Cavalero, Molly Kearney, Gigi Zumbado, Tim Meadows, and more star in the new sitcom that premiered last fall.
Our exclusive blooper reel features physical gags, breaking of character, and even an artfully crafted "CD"—"see deez" joke for the millennial with a childish heart watching. The logline for DMV is as follows:
"DMV is a comedy set in the place everyone dreads going most — the Department of Motor Vehicles — where employees are making minimum wage dealing with customers who are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Working at the East Hollywood DMV office are: Colette, a driving examiner with a big heart and bad boundaries; Gregg, a misanthropic former English teacher; Vic, a former bouncer who loves putting difficult drivers in their places; Barbara, a newly promoted manager who tries hard but often misses the mark; Noa, a charming surfer who seems destined for much greater things; and Ceci, a scrappy photographer who isn't afraid to speak her mind. Fortunately, this quirky crew has each other to navigate the twists and turns of the DMV together."
Is 'DMV' Renewed for Season 2?
Between endless laughs and Tim Meadows in particular shining with his comedic chops, it would be silly not to continue the series. There's been no official renewal news yet for the series. The wave of renewals for television shows across networks typically comes in the spring, so that means it could be any time now. During Collider's Spring Preview ahead of the midseason premiere of DMV, Samantha Coley got the chance to ask Meadows about what could be expected for the remainder of the season. He specifically highlighted working with Molly Kearney, who plays branch manager, Barb, explaining:
"There were times where Molly would improvise lines, and one time they said, 'Oh my god, this is like the time that I had a dream that I was making out with Gregg.' [Laughs] It was cut, and we just started laughing because they had never said that before. I just love working with Molly. I do. I love it."
The praise aligns perfectly with the broken character moments seen in the blooper reel, adding no end of laughs to the already hilarious show. DMV airs Mondays on CBS. Check out the exclusive blooper reel above and stay with Collider for the latest updates.
