Bluey‘s big-screen debut is still over a year away, and there hasn’t been a new season of regular episodes since 2024. But the Australian animated series—which occupies that rare space of “made for kids, but also fiercely beloved by adults”—has been the most-streamed show in the U.S. for two years running. And now Disney has announced some new enticements to keep fans of its extremely valuable import satisfied.
First up is Bluey’s Big Play: The Stage Show, “a special televised version of the popular touring theatrical production,” which you will be able to watch and rewatch from your couch starting March 16. According to a Disney press release, it has an original story by Bluey creator Joe Brumm and music by Joff Bush. And as you can see from the trailer, it involves oversized puppet versions of the characters.
Then, an array of Bluey “minisodes,” which are not technically new but were previously only available online or in Australia, are coming to Disney+ on May 20. While a typical Bluey episode runs just eight minutes, these micro-episodes clock in at one to three minutes and “highlight funny and sweet moments featuring Bluey and Bingo leaning into playful interactions and games that further explore the characters and world of Bluey.”
The titles are: Humpty Dumpty, Green Bottles, Flying Saucer, Tea Party, Pea Pod Sausages, Old Macdonald, Honk, Lollipop Song, Cinderella, and Make Mum Laugh.
If you or your favorite pint-sized Bluey fan hunger for more, and you’re anywhere near Southern California, Disneyland will kick off “Bluey’s Best Day Ever,” described as “a fun-filled celebration of favorite episodes,” starting March 22 at the Fantasyland Theatre. This attraction will take the form of “a beautiful Fun Fair at Bluey’s School,” with Bluey and Bingo popping up “alongside a lively group of comedic performers and musicians, plus some very familiar friends.”
If you’re closer to Florida, Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Disney World has its own Bluey theming kicking off May 26: “Once guests hop off the Wildlife Express Train, it’s time for fun. Play special games directly from Bluey episodes, grab a photo with Bluey and Bingo themselves, and even discover animals native to Bluey’s home country, Australia, at ‘Jumping Junction.'”
The Bluey movie arrives in theaters August 6, 2027, at which time we fully expect Bluey hype will still be going full throttle.
