Rick Riordan’s beloved fantasy franchise is an IP for the ages; the stories of demigods, gods, and unthinkable quests are relevant for people of all ages. Be it the books, now cult classic movies, or the ongoing Disney+ series, fans worldwide are always eager to be a part of this world.

Fans' latest fixation is the Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a third season of which is due out soon. The series, led by Walker Scobell as Percy, is regarded highly among viewers for accurately bringing Riordan’s stories to life. The debut season adapted the iconic The Lightning Thief storyline that chronicles the awakening of 12-year-old Percy Jackson (Scobell) as he discovers his lineage as a forbidden son of Poseidon. It was universally loved for bringing the mythical world to life. Its success was soon followed by the second season, which adapted The Sea of Monsters, shifting the focus to Camp Half-Blood's vulnerability, challenging Percy’s identity while dramatically expanding the cast.

The highly anticipated season 3 will adapt fan favorite The Titan’s Curse storyline that not only challenges Percy but also moves the current events towards the larger story arc in the books. The synopsis for the season teases that Percy is facing a quest unlike any other. We find “Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries) has suddenly gone missing, a legendary goddess is in danger, and new demigods are discovering their identities.” Meaning the cast will further expand while Percy goes on a quest to find his friend. Further, the Great Prophecy, i.e., one child of the Big Three will determine the fate of Olympus, will also come into play. While fans have seen the trailer establishing Percy's quest, the marketing material has kept other secrets under wraps. As fans like to do, they are revisiting the series before the new season comes, but this time around it isn’t on Disney+.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Tops Netflix Charts

Percy Jackson has a new home now, where he’s entertaining the audience with all his might. The series came to the platform earlier this month as part of a new licensing agreement between Disney Entertainment and Netflix. And now Percy Jackson and the Olympians is sitting in the eighth spot on the streamer’s global top 10 lists, according to FlixPatrol. Percy is in good company with titles like Florence Pugh’s new drama East of Eden, Josh Hartnett’s mystery thriller Below, Netflix original Take Charge of My Heart, and more.

Stay tuned to Collider for more such updates.
