The devil of Hell’s Kitchen is back. The highly anticipated second season of Daredevil: Born Again is here, and fans are glued to their seats to see the continuation of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and Mayor Wilson Fisk’s (Vincent D'Onofrio) battle for New York City. While the first season amused viewers who were elated when Daredevil was saved after the show was cancelled by Netflix, which, back in the day, was developing several hero shows on TV.
Aptly dubbed Daredevil: Born Again for the character’s MCU return, the first season went through a creative overhaul behind the scenes and showrunners Dario Scardapane and Matt Corman were able to serve a solid first season connecting it back to the Netflix series by adding characters like Karen (Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy (Elden Henson), and the Punisher (Jon Bernthal). The series was universally loved for its slick action and pertinent character moments.
With the first episode of the second season out now, the series is working its magic again. Daredevil: Born Again brings us back to New York under Fisk’s strict anti-vigilante laws as Matt, Karen, and others try to protect the weak. It has teased a major role for Bullseye (Wilson Bethel) with the promise of interesting characters like Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones joining the fray in the coming episodes.
With a solid start, the series has gotten some incredible reviews and an even more credible Rotten Tomatoes rating. Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has scored 94% among critics and 96% among audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. This puts Born Again Season 2 as the second-highest-rated season, standing next only to Netflix’s DaredevilSeason 1, which has a solid 99% rating. However, the ratings are subject to change as the season progresses.
And Just Like That... we're going back to where it all started for Carrie Bradshaw. On Sarah Jessica Parker's birthday, it's a Sex and the City check.
Is ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Worth Your Time?
Yes, especially for the long-time fans, as the story progresses seamlessly. All the right elements from character chemistry to nostalgic moments and amazing action – all seem to be in store. Collider’s Therese Lacson called the second season “a far, far better showing than Season 1.” Further noting, "Despite all of that, it's hard to deny that when Daredevil: Born Again is good, it's very good. In the moments when the action hits, the writing is solid, and the performances shine, it's firing on all cylinders. The problem is consistency, and it doesn't feel like the Disney+ show has a full grasp on that just yet."
Check out Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 on Disney+ and stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
