Disney Reveals Pay Packages for New CEO Josh D’Amaro, Creative Chief Dana Walden

Disney has revealed the pay packages for its newly appointed top executives: CEO Josh D’Amaro and president and chief creative officer Dana Walden.

As Bob Iger’s successor, D’Amaro will have an annual base salary of $2.5 million. He will be eligible for an annual, performance-based bonus with a target equal to 250% of that annual base salary. Additionally, for each fiscal year that D’Amaro serves as CEO, he will be given a long-term stock incentive of $26.2 million. He will also receive a one-time long-term incentive award with a target value of $9.7 million tied to his promotion to CEO.

Walden, who has entered into an employment agreement set to expire March 2030, will have an annual base salary of $3.75 million. She will be eligible for an annual, performance-based bonus with a target equal to 200% of that annual base salary. Walden will receive a long-term stock award of $15.75 million for each full fiscal year during her president and CCO tenure. She will receive a one-time long-term incentive award valued at $5.26 million for reaching her new position.

Including those one-time bonuses, D’Amaro’s initial annual package is set at approximately $38 million, while Walden’s comes in around $24 million.

On Tuesday, The Walt Disney Co. board ended its two-year search for Iger’s successor with the announcement that D’Amaro, head of the company’s theme parks and consumer products division, would take on the job. Disney announced that other top candidate Walden, who is now co-chair of Disney Entertainment, would be promoted to a new role, president and chief creative officer, reporting directly to D’Amaro.

Their new positions will be effective March 18 at Disney’s annual meeting. Iger will transition to serving as senior adviser and a member of the Disney board until his retirement from the company this December.
