Zootopia 2 just broke a 2025 box office record as Disney claims a major win over Warner Bros.

The first Zootopia was released in 2016 and ended up being the second-highest-grossing animated movie of the year behind Finding Dory. Among all movies in 2016, Zootopia claimed the No. 4 spot on the global box office chart, with Captain America: Civil War and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story landing in the Top 2.

According to Variety, Zootopia 2 is now officially the highest-grossing North American film of 2025 after earning $424.2 million and surging past A Minecraft Movie's $424.08 million. The animated flick had already earned the titles of highest-grossing film at the international box office with $1.425 billion and highest-grossing global film with $1.85 billion at the box office. With this latest update three months after its theatrical release, Zootopia 2 can now claim the domestic record as well.
