Demi Moore's daughters jump for joy watching Golden Globes at home as she wins first ever major award at 62

Demi Moore gave a moving speech as she accepted her first Golden Globe win for her critically-acclaimed performance in the body horror film, The Substance.

The actress, 62 - who looked ageless as she walked the glamorous red carpet ahead of the main ceremony - became emotional as she clutched the statue in her hand after winning Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy.

Her daughters Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30, were also filmed reacting to their mother garnering her first major acting award since starting her career in the 1980s.

After stepping onto the stage, Moore was greeted by applause from the celebrity guests and admitted, 'Wow, I really wasn't expecting that.'

'I'm just in shock right now. I've been doing this a long time, like over 45 years and this is the first time I've ever won anything as an actor.'

'I'm just so humbled and so grateful,' she added before recalling how a producer had once called her a 'popcorn actress' in the past.

Moore said that at the time, she felt 'this wasn't something that I was allowed to have, that I could do movies that were successful, that made a lot of money, but that I couldn't be acknowledged.'

'And I bought in, and I believed that, and that corroded me over time, to the point where I thought a few years ago that maybe this was it, maybe I was complete, maybe I've done what I was supposed to do.'

She recalled, 'And as I was at kind of a low point, I had this magical, bold, courageous, out of the box, absolutely bonkers script come across my desk called The Substance, and the universe told me that you're not done.'

Demi then gave a special shout out to the director, Coralie Fargeat, 'for trusting me, to step in and play this woman.'

She also thanked her co-star, Margaret Qualley, for 'looking out for me' as well as 'all the people who stood by me, especially the people who believed in me when I haven't believed in myself.'

Towards the end of her touching speech, the Ghost actress added, 'I'll just leave you with one thing.'

'That I think this movie is imparting is in those moments when we don't think we're smart enough or pretty enough or skinny enough or successful enough, or basically just not enough.'

'I had a woman say to me, "Just know you will never be enough, but you can know the value of your worth if you just put down the measuring stick."'

A joint post was soon uploaded to Instagram that captured the moment her daughters reacted to their mother's Golden Globe win.

The clip was shared by Moore's friends, Amanda De Cadenet and Eric Buterbaugh, as well as her three daughters - whom she shares with ex Bruce Willis.

Rumer, Scout and Tallulah could be seen sitting on the floor of a spacious living room along with other close family friends while looking at a TV.

The group remained quiet as they awaited for the presenters on stage to announce the winner of Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy.

The second Demi's name was read, everyone threw their arms into the air and jumped to their feet. Loud cheers and screams echoed around the room during the exciting moment.

Her daughters quickly sat back down on the floor to begin listening to Moore's acceptance speech.

In the comment section of the joint post, Scout penned, 'SHE DID IT,' followed by crying face emojis.

Scout also added, 'this is a huge win for EVERYONE,' while Tallulah shared, 'I love her so f***ing much, I have no words'

The Substance was released in theaters last year in September 2024, and the cast also included Margaret Qualley, Dennis Quaid, Hugo Diego Garcia and Oscar Lesage.

The premise of the movie is: 'A fading celebrity takes a black-market drug: a cell-replicating substance that temporarily creates a younger, better version of herself,' per IMDB.

The movie was nominated for an additional four Golden Globes, such as Best Supporting Actress for Qualley.

Before taking on her role in The Substance, Demi had thought her Hollywood career was 'complete'

She added, 'And I thought, "You know what? Maybe my time doing this is complete. Maybe I've done everything I was supposed to do." … Two weeks later, the script for The Substance came across my desk'

Before taking on her role in The Substance, Demi had thought her Hollywood career was 'complete.'

She touched on the topic while accepting the Maria Manetti Shrem Award for Acting during the SFFILM Awards in San Francisco in December.

The star expressed, 'I've had a very long career, but I haven't really ever been part of the conversations that allowed me to be part of [awards shows] and to really receive the love and celebration of my work. I'm really just so humbled.'

'At the beginning of 2022, I had a moment where I was at an event and I felt I didn't belong. I didn't know why I was there. I wanted to be invisible and I couldn't figure out how to get out.'

Moore took to the stage once again during the special night alongside Qualley as they presented the award for Best Actor in a Television Series - Drama, which went to Hiroyuki Sanada

She added, 'And I thought, "You know what? Maybe my time doing this is complete. Maybe I've done everything I was supposed to do." … Two weeks later, the script for The Substance came across my desk.'

Demi admitted she had been 'almost ready to step away' but told the crowd that she was grateful she chose not to.

And inside one of the ballrooms inside the iconic Beverly Hilton Hotel, Margaret and Demi held big smiles on their faces for a memorable snap together.
