Demi Lovato stunned at an event after getting candid about her battle with an eating disorder.

The 33-year-old star looked stylish in a leather outfit as she attended the screening of her film Tow in New York City on Wednesday.

She donned a black leather jacket featuring red accent paneling on the torso and down the arms along with a pleated black leather midi skirt.

Lovato wore her raven-colored hair down in a middle-part as her make-up accentuated her porcelain skin topped off with smoky eye and shiny pink lip gloss

The stunner was joined by castmates Rose Byrne, Dominic Sessa, and Simon Rex in addition to director Stephanie Laing.

Lovato portrays a character named Nova in the film which is centered around Byrne's character Amanda Ogle who is a homeless Seattle woman who fought her way out of tow-company hell to reclaim her life and car after receiving a tow bill for $21,634.

Tow is set for limited release in the US beginning this Friday, March 20.

A day earlier, Lovato described learning to cook as a 'huge win' in her recovery from an eating disorder.

The singer made the admission while promoting her new cookbook at an event with Eli Rallo at the 92nd Street Y in New York on Tuesday.

One Plate At A Time: Recipes For Finding Freedom With Food is due to be released on March 31.

The star, who battled bulimia for years, said her relationship to cooking began to change five years into her recovery, when she was 30.

'I think this whole book is celebratory because it's a celebration of how far I've come,' she said.

'I used to step foot into a grocery store and break down into tears because I was so overwhelmed by all of the food.

'And now I'm not only going into grocery stores and shopping myself, but I'm also cooking the meals that I'm making, and that's a huge win for me.'

She also avoided a lot of fun foods as she said: 'There was a time in my life where I wouldn't celebrate my birthdays with cakes, and so to have a birthday cake recipe in my cookbook is so meaningful and has been so rewarding.'

This comes after the singer reportedly lost 50lbs in the past year by changing up her diet and exercise routine.

A dinner with friends made her realize how far she has come.

'We turned it into this spaghetti squash salad. That was the first recipe that I cooked with friends where I was like, "Wow, this is actually really fun,"' she said.

The former Disney star also said: 'When I actually stepped foot into the kitchen and had so much joy come from it, and I was proud of what I made.'

And she wants to help others heal.

'I wanted to create a cookbook that was for people who may have had disordered eating in the past or are just intimidated to step foot into the kitchen for the first time,' she remarked.

'It's just about getting in the kitchen and getting comfortable around cooking, and that will set you up for success later down the road with more recipes.'

In a previous post announcing the project, the old pal of Selena Gomez said: 'This book is filled with simple, comforting recipes that have allowed me to reconnect with myself and find both freedom and joy in my kitchen – feelings I never thought I could experience.'

The ex of Joe Jonas also said: 'It has allowed me to see cooking as an act of love and kindness to myself and those in my life, and I hope this book can bring that same feeling into your home too.'

The book features more than 80 recipes, including 'Spag Bol', Chicken Milanese with arugula salad and 'Foolproof Pulled Pork', and is framed around Demi's evolving relationship with food after years of struggling with bulimia.
