Maxwell Lord actor Sean Gunn discusses the difference between his portrayal of the DCU character and that of Pedro Pascal in the DCEU's Wonder Woman 1984. Superman's packed cast features the introduction of several famous DC characters, including Sean Gunn's Maxwell Lord. While the first Superman trailer doesn't reveal any information about Lord, the traditionally villainous businessman will likely play an important role in the DCU's first movie.
In an episode of The Kristian Harloff Show (via DCU Updates), actor Sean Gunn addresses his DCU casting as Maxwell Lord. Gunn explains that his take on Maxwell Lord is inherently different from Pascal, and mentions how James Gunn prioritizes the source material. Check out Sean Gunn's comments below:
"Your own body is the vessel for what you're doing, so obviously... no one is gonna confuse me and Pedro Pascal's performance. So obviously we're going to do something different. I think that James (Gunn) is good about directing me towards the relevant source material. So, I think, the whole concept of the character takes a totally different type of tack. I saw the movie and Pedro is obviously a great actor, but what he does in that movie is not really relevant to anything that I'm doing."
