Daniel Radcliffe is crossing a major career milestone with his must-watch new project with a better Rotten Tomatoes score than all the Harry Potter franchise. Ever since he debuted the role of "the boy who lived" in 2001's Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the actor has become a hero icon for an entire generation.

2026 marks 15 years since the franchise wrapped up on the big screen with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, and while he has never shied away from the legacy of the iconic story, Radcliffe has also taken bold steps to diversify his portfolio. In the last decade and a half, he has starred in multiple projects on film, TV, and theater, showcasing his versatility.

Outside the Harry Potter franchise, 2026 is also a big year for Radcliffe's career, as he conquers a new frontier by joining Tracy Morgan's new comedy — The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.

The Fall And Rise Of Reggie Dinkins Marks Daniel Radcliffe's First Network TV Project

Motivated by the continued popularity of the mockumentary format for comedies, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins follows the titular character, played by Morgan, as the former football star gets his life together after a gambling scandal got him permanently banned. Radcliffe plays Arthur Tobin, a filmmaker who has been hired to film a documentary about this time in the disgraced athlete's life.

Being on network TV, The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is Radcliffe's first project on a traditional broadcaster. The comedy is part of NBC's 2025-2026 programming roster, debuting during the midseason. Despite streaming's rise in popularity in the last decade, network TV remains relevant, especially since it's the only format that guarantees an annual return for shows that have been renewed.

Why The Fall And Rise Of Reggie Dinkins Is An Exciting New Path For Radcliffe

Currently, The Fall and the Rise of Reggie Dinkins has an impressive perfect Rotten Tomatoes score. Still at 100% with 26 reviews is impressive, especially for an original IP with no ties to any established brands on network TV. For context, Radcliffe's highest Rotten Tomatoes project before the NBC comedy debuted was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2 in 2011, with 96%.

Radcliffe is not new to comedy by any means. He has proven his craft in the genre with projects such as Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and his one-time SNL hosting gig. That said, being on a network TV sitcom like The Fall and the Rise of Reggie Dinkins is an entirely different task. Aside from being paired up with comedy legend Morgan, the show also allows Radcliffe to truly flex his comedic chops, since it's a weekly show with more output than most streaming projects.

Finally, while Radcliffe will immediately be recognizable to anyone who has ever watched a Harry Potter film, being on a network show broadens his presence. Since The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins is available on free TV and also streaming (the next day), the show and his performance in it are more accessible than most of his other projects.

Harry Potter is a multimedia franchise about an orphaned boy who enrolls at Hogwarts School of Wizardry, where he learns the truth about himself, his family, and the terrible evil that haunts the magical world. Adapted from the novels, Harry Potter is an eight-episode film saga that follows the journey of Harry Potter and his friends, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley, as they navigate the tricky world of growing up, school life, and magic. Starting from year one and moving to their seventh year, the films chronicle the students' time at Hogwarts while unfurling a sinister plot that centers around the unsuspecting Harry. With the return of the dark wizard, Voldemort, the students and professors at Hogwarts will fight to carry on as the world around them may change forever. Harry Potter has expanded beyond the world of its films and novels with several video games, a spin-off film series titled Fantastic Beasts, and even attractions at Universal Studios.
