Chris Martin Puts Dakota Johnson Breakup Rumors to Rest Once and For All
Dakota Johnson and Chris Martin are on the adventure of a lifetime.
The Madame Web star stepped out with the Coldplay frontman for a tender stroll through Mumbai Jan. 20, displaying some understated PDA along the way.
During the outing, the couple—who began their romance in 2017—held hands as they navigated the bustling city streets. Dakota, 35, kept cool in a flowing black print dress and dark sunglasses with her hair styled into a bun. To accessorize, she opted for brown sneakers for comfort and a leather crossbody bag for convenience.
As for Chris—who shares kids Apple Martin, 20, and Moses Martin, 18, with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow—the 47-year-old also went for a more practical wardrobe, sporting a blue T-shirt and matching ball cap. He completed the ensemble with a pair of dark pants and comfy white sneakers with blue detailing.
Days earlier, Dakota and Chris shared another casual excursion in the South Asian city—where Coldplay has been touring—putting an end to rumors they had pulled the plug on their seven-year relationship. They also denied split speculation back in August, telling E! News at the time that breakup reports were “not true” and “they are happily together.”
In fact, the Fifty Shades of Grey star previously offered a rare glimpse into her relationship with the “Viva La Vida” singer, explaining that growing up as the daughter of Hollywood icons Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith made her extra cautious about maintaining her privacy.

“Maybe I think about relationships like that differently because I grew up in my family,” she told Vanity Fair in 2022. "We were all cool. Obviously, there were times where it was not cool, but I experienced that, so I don't want that in my life.”
Dakota continued, “It's better to be kind, and it's also really nice that everybody actually really loves each other and has each other's backs.”
