There's a lot of hype around Studio Trigger's upcoming Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 series, but it's not the only project that the studio has in the works. We've also learned when we can expect more of Delicious in Dungeon and that some of Trigger's most prolific creators are working on something new.
After Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 comes out sometime this fall, a second season of Delicious in Dungeon will follow in Oct. 2027. The first season of that anime was well received when it aired on Netflix in 2024, with Polygon previously calling it "a great D&D-flavored hangout show, one that insists on filling its dank, monster-filled halls with good vibes and sitcom quirks."
Teaser visuals for the second season were also shared by Trigger at the panel and on X. Unlike Edgerunners 2, we can expect Delicious in Dungeon to follow the same characters as it goes on.
While Delicious in Dungeon and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners are some of Trigger's more recent hits, they aren't the ones that put the studio on the map. Credit for that goes to the anime series Kill la Kill and the film Promare, both created by director Hiroyuki Imaishi and writer Kazuki Nakashima. While the pair hasn't made anything new in a while, Trigger confirmed at Anime Expo that Imaishi and Nakashima are working together again on a project.
Not much is known about this new project, but Imaishi and Nakashima discussed it in a video. In it, Nakashima confirms that the script for this upcoming project is complete and that Imaishi is currently working on storyboards. The pair also framed the project as a culmination of their careers and their previous work.
While Imaishi and Nakashima's new project still does not have a release window, we know Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 will be out this fall and that the second season of Delicious in Dungeon will air in Oct. 2027.
