Known as 'Cyberpunk 2077's' biggest fan, Angharad is a Welsh games writer who thrives in anything related to digital storytelling. If a video game explores the intricacies and horrors of womanhood, she is there.

Thanks to previous work at GAMINGbible, GameByte, The Loadout, Game Luster, Angharad has built a strong understanding of both the digital world and what fans want from it and is eager to share her thoughts and expertise with readers.

First released back in 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 has had quite a journey. Inspired by the original RPG created by Mike Pondsmith, the video game RPG arrived over five years ago, but as many of us may know, it launched in quite an unplayable state, even leading to online storefronts removing it from the market until it was fixed. Luckily, developer CD Projekt RED took this on board and now, many consider Cyberpunk 2077 to be one of the greatest video games of all time.

Thanks to the tireless dedication of its developers and its award-winning DLC, Phantom Liberty, Cyberpunk 2077 is a cornerstone of the RPG genre, but with some gamers still remembering its disappointing launch, it still remains on many people's wishlist.

Well, if you are somebody who is hesitant to check out Cyberpunk 2077, you are in luck as the hit RPG is available at no extra cost on both the Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus. Available for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers and Game Pass Premium members, grabbing it courtesy of these deals will save you approximately $59.99.

However, I find that nothing works as much as hearing a person's thoughts, and luckily, I am a self-proclaimed Cyberpunk 2077 super fan. Like many, I was hesitant to try it based upon some of the horror stories I saw and read upon the game's launch. However, back in 2024, I bit the bullet when the game went on sale, and it swiftly became one of my favorite video games of all time. Not only does Cyberpunk 2077 feature a compelling storyline and multidimensional characters, but it is its setting, Night City, that really ties the whole game together. Soaked in neon lights that hide the corruption that lurks through the towering skyscrapers and underground clinics, Night City is a living, breathing character much like V and Johnny Silverhand, so it is perhaps no wonder that many consider it to be one of the greatest video game settings of all time.

On top of that, Cyberpunk 2077 just offers hours of fun, allowing you to make builds based on your playstyle — whether that is a hacking-based stealth approach or all guns blazing with thermal katanas and a wide arsenal of guns. You can parkour across buildings, hack into otherwise inaccessible rooms, and even race across the Badlands. How you approach the story is also up to you, with V's background affecting moments in the game as well as dialogue options and, of course, you can customize to your heart's content with futuristic and cybernetic augmentations and fashion.

Put simply, Cyberpunk 2077 is everything you could wish for in an RPG and more, and luckily, it can be yours for absolutely free if you are an Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus subscriber.
