Ben Brosofsky has been writing for Screen Rant since 2022 and editing since 2024. He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's in Cinema & Media Arts. Writing serves as a much-needed distraction from tackling a backlog of Steam games that will never be surmounted.
Over five years after its original release, players keep returning to Cyberpunk 2077, and it keeps presenting them with new surprises and opportunities. While CD Projekt Red's follow-up to The Witcher 3 disappointed many upon its release, community opinion has shifted to one of general affection following patches, new content, and a general sense of reappraisal for the game's strengths.
This week, Reddit user Current_Patient9424 shared their discovery of a hidden mission in the Jinguji clothing store. After the store icon disappeared from the map, they returned to the location to encounter a cyberpsycho rampage in the store. Some commenters responded to the point by sharing further context and their own experiences with the quest, while others were just as surprised to learn about it as the original poster was.
Only Fashionistas Will Encounter This
Cyberpunk 2077's Night City is a dense metropolis, so it's easy to miss missions that aren't part of the main story or attached to key NPCs and locations. It's entirely possible to play through the game without a casual visit to Jinguji, and even those who do some shopping there won't encounter the events of the mission if they don't notice the side quest that appears after leaving.
Mdgt_Pope, for example, notes that they've "never once heard of this quest" despite repeat playthroughs, confessing that they "never shop for clothes" in-game.
RobotCrow12 adds some helpful context for those interested in the mission, explaining that an optional fight has the possibility of dropping Max Tac Mantis Blades. While no one seems entirely sure of how to guarantee the drop, other comments suggest that performing a takedown might be the best way.
Night City Is Full Of Secrets
There's So Much More To Explore
Current_Patient9424 is far from the only Cyberpunk 2077 to make new personal discoveries in recent months. One Reddit user was recently happy to stumble across the secret loot room near the start of the game, and even those who already know the game front to back can still be excited to see others encounter surprises for the first time.
Fans have also continued to include their own new details through the constant release of Cyberpunk 2077 mods. This month, the "Apex" mod added a new Badlands location, and massive overhaul collections like Night City Reborn continue to receive frequent updates.
With The Witcher 4 on the horizon, it might be a while before developer CD Projekt Red releases the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, but the original game still has plenty to offer in the meantime.
