I'm more of a Kindle guy personally, but I can't deny the Fire HD 8 is another great option if you just want a basic tablet for shopping or browsing. It's not a world-beater, but it does handle the basics well.

Who would have thought? Amazon loves to discount its own-brand devices down to record-low prices over these big sales events - and Cyber Monday is certainly no exception.

As I mentioned, the Amazon Cyber Monday sale has already started, with the retailer shifting all its messaging to the next sales event. While it may have a different name, a vast majority of the deals are the same as the ones we saw over Black Friday. So, if you missed out earlier in the week, consider this another chance to get them. I expect more deals will officially drop on Monday, too.
