EXCLUSIVE: Mark Ford, founder of Creature Films, the company behind Lifetime’s Where is Wendy Williams? and Paramount+’s reboot of Behind The Music, has joined Blink49 Studios.
Ford has been named Chief Creative Officer, Unscripted at the Fifth Season-backed producer.
It marks a reunion between Ford and Tara Long, President of Global Unscripted Television, to whom he will report, the pair having worked together at eOne, where Creature Films had a production deal.
Ford will oversee the studio’s unscripted development and production.
Blink49 is behind unscripted series such as The Braxtons and Toya & Reginae for WeTV and Queen of the Castle for Canada’s CTV. The company was also the production service team for MrBeast’s Amazon series Beast Games.
Ford was a co-exec producer on MTV’s Laguna Beach and an exec producer on Siesta Key and is also behind series such as Amazon’s Mary J. Blige: My Life, A&E’s Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G., Streets of Compton and L.A. Burning.
“Mark is an exceptional creative talent whose storytelling has consistently set the standard in unscripted television,” said Long. “Having worked closely with him before, I’ve witnessed his ability to craft captivating narratives that resonate with audiences. His vision perfectly complements Blink49’s mission to deliver innovative unscripted content, and I’m excited to partner with him again.”
