Craig Conover played his cards close to the vest when explaining his side of the break-up with former girlfriend Paige DeSorbo.
The Southern Charm star, 35, was asked about DeSorbo's statement she had 'never cheated physically or emotionally' while on Watch What Happens Live on Thursday night.
Host Andy Cohen asked the Sewing Down South executive, who claimed he would have proposed before the split, if he had 'cosigned his ex's statement about rumors of infidelity.
'I don't want to be involved,' Conover explained.
'I got broken up with. I'm the ex-boyfriend, moving on with my life,' he said, hinting that it was not a joint decision to call the three year relationship quits.
'I'm not going to get sucked into the mud with them,' he said referring to other Southern Charm cast members.

'Her cast … like, commenting on how I am grieving and that I'm sorry that I'm not reading Reddit everyday, getting on there and defending her. Like, I never said you cheated, so I'm not a part of this.'
The 6'3" hunk also said he didn't feel it was his responsibility to defend his former girlfriend after she was the one who announced their split.
'I didn’t tell her what to say,' Conover stated regarding her announcement on the Giggly Squad podcast.
'I got a text and she said, "I’m announcing it on my podcast." And then she said it was mutual, which it wasn’t, I didn’t know about it, she called me and told me,' he said.
Conover described the aftermath of the big news as a 'whirlwind.'
'I’ve been sitting in it, listening to people be like, "Love isn’t enough." Guess what? Love is enough and I hate that I’m being drawn into that,' he said. 'If two people love each other, you’ll make it work.'
'Like, we didn’t want different things, she just wanted other people and that’s fine. She didn’t want those things with me anymore and I’m not mad at her for that but I don’t like this "love isn’t enough" thing because you’ll make it work.'
During his appearance on WWHL on January 30, Southern Charm star Austen Kroll, alleged rumors about DeSorbo dating someone new had been 'substantiated,' claiming Conover had 'come to terms' with the news.
'I don't want to be involved,' Conover said on Watch What Happens Live when Andy Cohen asked about DeSorbo's claim she did not cheat on Thursday night's episode. 'I got broken up with. I'm the ex-boyfriend, moving on with my life,' he said
Both Conover and DeSorbo said the split happened over the Thanksgiving weekend. Conover said it happened over the phone, and he had 'no reason to think she was serious. I thought she was having a bad night, or a break down' (Pictured in New York City in February 2024)
DeSorbo has complained on her Giggly Squad podcast that no one is defending her amid rumors she has found someone new. 'I'm not going to get sucked into the mud with them,' Conover said referring to other Southern Charm cast members
The 6'3" hunk said the split wasn't about them wanting 'different things,' but rather his ex 'didn’t want those things with me anymore' (Pictured in Santa Monica, CA in June 2022)
'I think it's fair to say it's none of my business,' Conover said when confronted with that claim from Kroll. 'My favorite person in the universe basically became a lesson all of a sudden and how I've been grieving, I think, has been good.'
DeSorbo denied Kroll's allegations on her podcast again on Monday. 'Let me say this here and now: I did not move on with some new guy. I’m single. I don’t have a new boyfriend. I did not cheat not on my ex-boyfriend.'
'But since no one’s sticking up for me on the other side… perpetuating even more rumors, I will say that Craig and I broke up Thanksgiving weekend,' she said, adding'. OK? That’s at the end of November.'
Conover confirmed that timeline, but said, she told him while he was on the road promoting Southern Charm, 'I think we have to break up' but he said when people see the show they'll understand why he had 'no reason to think she was serious. I thought she was having a bad night, or a break down. '
