Michelle Young is ready to nip the single life in the bud.
The Bachelorette alum recently got engaged to boyfriend Jack Leius.
As Michelle recalled to People, she went to Centennial Lakes Park in their home state of Minnesota under the impression that she was filming a brand commercial. So when she saw Jack—who told the outlet he worked with her management team to orchestrate the fake project—she was surprised.
"I completely froze when I saw Jack standing in the middle of this beautiful flower arch of white roses," the reality star added. "I was fooled so badly that for a moment I thought the joke was that Jack was one of the male models that I would be working with at the shoot.”
However, it wasn’t long before she figured out what was really happening.
"I tried to say yes several times but was in shock that no words really came out,” Michelle shared with the publication, which revealed Jack popped the question with a 3.56-carat emerald-cut diamond ring. “There were a lot of happy tears and of course I said YES!"
The proposal came more than a year after the couple first connected through a mutual friend. As they recalled in a March TikTok video, Jack asked his buddy if he could connect him to Michelle, and she just so happened to inquire around the same time if the pal knew anyone who was single. The matchmaking worked as they met up soon afterwards and felt an instant spark.
“I was supposed to go out of town the next day,” Michelle continued, “and I canceled my trip because, I don’t know, I just wanted to spend more time with him.”
And they fell for each other fast.
“We hung out Thursday, Friday, Saturday,” the former teacher noted, “and then he asked me to be his girlfriend on Sunday.”

Michelle—who began her Bachelor Nation journey on Matt James' season—was previously engaged to Nayte Olukoya, the final rose recipient from her time as the Bachelorette in 2021. However, the pair announced their split in June 2022.
"I broke up with her over the phone," Nayte told Nick Viall on his podcast The Viall Files later that year, adding Michelle was at the airport at the time of the call, "which is a dick move."
And while she’s had quite the journey, Michelle is grateful it brought her to Jack. As she put it in one post, “Hit the Jackpot with you.”
