In the case of fishing, you can expect to spend plenty of hours with your fishing pole out in this cozy seafaring adventure as you seek out each type of fish, discover their spawn times, and craft their bait so you can finally track down their Fabled variations.

Uncovering each of the Fabled Fish Species requires you to meet special criteria, which you can't learn until you've fished using the bait for that specific fish enough times. Clownfish - Comedianfish: Have at least 3 fish tanks with fish on your boat.
Flying Fish - Rotorfish: Fish from a higher place.
Surgeonfish - Doctorfish: Have an item pouch with a fish on your boat. Item pouches are dropped if your inventory is full.
Flounder - Mapleflounder: Catch at least 2 large fish in a row before catching this one.
Reef Triggerfish - Coralfish: Have your companion wear 2 different customization pieces.
Devil Firefish - Lionfish: Fish in a swarm of Flotsam Helpers.
Mahi - Mahiki: Have an extinguished Tiki Statue on a nearby island.

Sakura Shores Fabled Fish Species

Pale Chub - Chubyaki: Craft hidden bait at the bait maker with wheat, red beans, a pale chub, and a rock in your inventory.
Eel - Stormeel: Fish while it's raining.
Koi - Diamyo Koi: Have three excellent koi in fish tanks on your boat. One of them will transform after 12 hours.
Butterflyfish - Pixiefish: Have at least 3 flowerpots with flowers on your boat.
Flame Angelfish - Onifish: Throw your fishing line into a fire before fishing.
Pufferfish - Piffignon: Have at least 4 light source decorations on your boat.
Salmon - Nigirifish: Fish while your companion is asleep.
Ribbon Eel - Stealth Eel: Fish inside a flotsam crate.
Trumpetfish - Orchestrafish: Have 2 different decorations on your boat that generate music.
Bluefin Tuna - Elephant Tuna: Use your Strong Pull ability 3 times while catching this fish.

Haunted Harbors Fabled Fish Species

Piranha - Draculafish: Have at least 3 harvestable tomatoes on your boat and fish at night.
Sturgeon - Skeletonfish: Cast your fishing rod on a skull.
Catfish - Catwitchfish: Have the Magical Broom, Music Box, and Tomb Bookshelves decorations on your boat.
Signal Goby - Signal Zomboby: Cast your fishing rod into an active compost box.
Sheepshead - Mummyfish: Have an item pounds with an excellent sheepshead on your boat for some time. It will transform.
Chimaera - Ghost Shark: Have a ghost following you while fishing.
Arrowhead Dogfish - Plungerhead Fish: Try to catch this fish after you've scared 3 fish away using your plunger gun.
Anglerfish - Wattfish: Cast your fishing rod into an active light source and fish at night.
Swordfish - Shieldfish: Craft the hidden armored bait in the bait maker while having an ingot from every climate in your inventory.
Cod - Stitchfish: Wear a sweater and a beanie while catching this fish.

Sun Perch - Moon Sailorfish: You need to have changed your outfit in the last 12 hours.
Zander - Zander Klaus: Fish while wearing a Christmas sweater.
Lake Trout - Milkyway Trout: Fish in a floating water bubble.
Starfish - Shooting Starfish: Fish during a meteor shower.
Cobia - Blackhole Fish: Have 500 items in various storage locations on your boat.
Barracuda - Galacuda: Fish in the Cosmic Mirror decoration.
Ray - Starray: Use a telescope to look at the moon. An elusive fish will appear in front of your boat.
