The runtime for Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Odyssey has finally been revealed.

Per RegMovies, The Odyssey clocks in at a record-setting 2 hours and 40 minutes runtime, setting the record for being Nolan's second-longest movie, behind Oscar-winner Oppenheimer, which has a three-hour runtime.

Those familiar with Nolan's body of work will not be surprised by the length, as it is fairly common for the director's more recent works to come in at runtime around the 2-hour-30-minute mark. However, the fact that The Odyssey is his second-longest-running movie does make sense, particularly given its epic story and detailed subject matter.

The Odyssey has a star-studded ensemble cast led by Damon, but also including Hollywood heavyweights Tom Holland and Zendaya, as well as former Nolan collaborators Robert Pattinson and Anne Hathaway. The sheer number of characters in the story and Nolan's grandiose style of storytelling mean that 2 hours and 40 minutes feels like the perfect runtime for the movie.
