The Resident Evil franchise has been on an absolute roll lately when it comes to their new releases, with the announcement of the upcoming Resident Evil Code Veronica remake following only a few short months after the release of the newest Resident Evil Requiem. While it seems like there's no way Capcom would have more in store for players, we're only a few months away from a few more major reveals for the series.
Although fans are still split over what to expect from Resident Evil Requiem's DLC and how Code Veronica's remake will adapt the content of the original game to the modern style of the series, fans will be getting answers to some of the biggest questions for the series in August of this year.
Resident Evil Is Getting Some Major Reveals Soon
Although we don't have official confirmation just yet on what exactly Capcom has in store for fans of the series, Capcom Europe's X account has confirmed that the studio will be attending this year's Gamescom 2026 event from August 26 to August 30, with more information about the games being shown arriving as we get closer to the event itself.
While there are several games Capcom could likely reveal more details for, such as the upcoming Monster Hunter Wilds DLC expansion or the rumored Devil May Cry remake, new content for Resident Evil seems by far the most likely if previous years are anything to go by.
Adding even more fuel to the fire is how Resident Evil Veronica seems to be following an almost identical release schedule as Resident Evil Requiem, which was similarly announced during last year's Summer Game Fest with a new teaser trailer, before being fully revealed with a lengthy gameplay trailer at Gamescom.
On top of the trailer, last year's Gamescom also provided a much deeper look at the story details, merchandise, and even a playable demo for attendees to try out and give their thoughts on the experience, which wouldn't be surprising for Capcom to repeat, given the record-breaking success of Requiem's launch sales.
Resident Evil Has More In Store Than Just A Single Remake
Of course, while Resident Evil: Veronica is one of the most exciting remakes we've seen for the series, given how much potential it has at fixing the mistakes of its predecessor, it's far from the only Resident Evil project that Capcom has in development to look forward to.
With remakes for both Resident Evil 0 and Resident Evil 1 supposedly in the works, on top of the confirmed upcoming story DLC for Resident Evil Requiem that players are desperately waiting to jump back into the game for, there's no shortage of surprise announcements that fans can hope to see at Gamescom this year, which you can stay tuned for here to make sure you don't miss any major Resident Evil reveals.
